A whole bunch of stuff, even fairly popular and highly requested titles....however, as with most everything in life, there is always a catch!

I think it comes down to consumers are getting used to paying $3 for movies, and very low prices for TV series sets, so new releases at premium prices won't sell well anymore. Saavy consumers wait for the price drop, and won't pay what they did for dvds 5-10 years ago.
As far as PC, I was always surprised (in the 90's), overseerer Ted Turner allowed the Japanese sailor to remain in Gilligan's Island, while censoring Looney Tunes... hell, he colorized those episodes...

Yeah DVDs are way cheap. I was thinking about this the other day. When Star Trek was selling on video you would buy two episodes at $20AU. Now you can buy the whole season on DVD for $40AU.

I would love to see the wonder years on DVD. I think that is one boxed set that would actually sell REALLY well if they could get the rights to all the songs used, which seems to be the real trouble.

After the VHS boom of the 80s, we entered the dreaded 90s with dual formats: LaserDisc and VHS. Suddenly it seemed all the new releases disappeared as the studios tried to get us to re-purchase the same old titles on LD. Of course everything changed in the late 90s with the arrival of DVD. So, substitute DVD for VHS, Blu-Ray for LD, and you've got the current situation. So what will be the new format to supplant them both by say 2020? I hope whatever it is leads to the resumption of catalog releases.

Finally getting Leave it to Beaver from Shout Factory in June. I remember first seeing the first season of Gunsmoke for $20 and thinking I could own all seasons of this show would be awesome, but then, as they have been with all the shows, they test the waters then split the seasons up, i.e. Perry Mason, Big Valley, Rawhide to name a few, charging $20 for 15 shows of a series, and people won't pay it. I would have bought most of these shows without batting an eye for $20 a season, but not split seasons.

The first Dream On release is one of the worst DVD transfers I've ever seen, but at least I have the show. I'd love to see Shout tackle this one and retransfer the first 2 seasons and release the last 3.

Just want to restate my observation that TV on DVD is for whatever reason a Fall/Winter thing. Most likely so they can promote all the returning shows, have things shiny in new in stores in time for the holidays.

I'm finally getting Max Headroom so there is one checked off my list but where is the rest of Perfect Strangers? The thing that kills me is that while browsing various DVD stores I've heard people asking the owners if they have Perfect Strangers. This has happened multiple times so I know the demand is there. What is the problem then?

There aren't any music issues with Perfect Strangers, right, just sucky sales? With Warner coming back to Fresh Prince and Everwood and releasing Falcon Crest and Scarecrow/King, it seems like they're digging back into the catalog. Maybe they're just running out of franchises with The Waltons done, and Dallas and ER coming close.

I think if anything, this year is shaping up to be better than 2008 and 2009. After the glory days of 2004-2007, it seemed like tons of classic shows were suddenly abandoned and everything.
I am excited that we're getting season 4 of The Facts Of Life in May, and from Shout!, a great company. Granted, FOL is a cheesy 80's show but it's a cheesy 80's show that I watched every week for most of my childhood and I'm glad to see more of it.

With major studios rapidly exhausting their libraries of films that haven't yet been released to DVD, I wouldn't be surprised to see them dig even further into their back-catalog of TV series and attempt to get past some of the issues which have prevented them from releasing some of their more popular shows from the past in addition to cult favorites.

Shout really is the silver lining here. They deserve their burgeoning reputation as a top-class TV distributor. They're the only company I can think of who a) takes risks on 'niche' shows and b) isn't afraid to release a second set/second season more than two years after the first one came out. None of this 'Season 1' and then 'Complete Series' business. They really seem to try and finish what they started.

I think this may be the case with major labels that put some production value into their TV DVDs and the packaging they come in. How many sets have to be sold to make it profitable? Tens of thousands? It's got to cost a lot to put these products out. But I think there's going to be a surge in secondary and budget labels that release or re-release older TV shows--assuming the studios and networks that own rights recognize that some revenue stream from un- or under-used properties is better than nothing. Shout Factory and Lionsgate have been cited; Mill Creek is starting to do more fun TV things on the budget end. But to hedge your bets, it's probably not a bad idea to pick up highly desired items now, when they're in print. That's what I'm doing, as budget allows.
Remember Walt Disney Treasures Zorro season 1 and 2 releases last year? They released them in a gorgeous glossy black tin case. Last Nov, you could buy them anywhere for $50 bucks. Now they are out of print, and going for $80 bucks online!
I'm just not happy with low budget packing. It makes me feel like I'm not getting a quality product. Look at what happened with The Three STooges. Ton of dvd releases in tins and cheap packaging brought horrible sales. Then the series was rereleased with a colorful attractive packaging, and the sales were awesome. Packaging does matter.
