Re: Question about Alien Quadrilogy and Predator

Fox introduced a "Collector's Series" (Digipacks) and were numbered accordingly.

1. The Abyss
2. Cast Away
3. Independence Day
4. Planet of the Apes (2001)
5. The Sound of Music
6. Moulin Rouge
7. Die Hard
8. There's Something About Mary
9. Fight Club
10. Alien
11. Aliens
12. Alien 3
13. Alien Resurrection
14. Planet of the Apes (1968)
15. Predator
16. The Commitments
17. I, Robot
18. Man on Fire
19. The Day After Tomorrow
20. The Fly (1986)
21. The Fly II
22. Elektra
23. Alien vs. Predator

I believe Fox made a boo-boo so Predator and Planet of the Apes wound up with the same spine number - #15.

I'm a little curious if many folks actually have these displayed on their shelves in the order above.

I don't know many that do, personally.

i, as well as many others, dont think its a bad idea itself, but the execution is lacking imho. but its not just fox that starts something like this and then discontinuing it.

- cinema classics by universal i think is done or almost done
- miriam collection is gone
- fox noir collection is gone

im sure there are at least a few others i cant think of or am not aware of too.

Re: Question about Alien Quadrilogy and Predator

Someone at Fox probably collects Criterion DVDs and thought it was a "good idea"

Re: Question about Alien Quadrilogy and Predator

First strike against me collecting something like this is the fact that The Abyss still isn't 16x9.
After that, I have no interest in movies like Independence Day or There's Something About Mary. Same as with Criterion really (while the quality of movies is certainly higher of course, there's still a massive spread of genres that I don't have any interest in).
