We're Not Dressing was included in the recent Bing Crosby "Backlot" set. Fun, but you could get the entire set for little more than the cost of the one pressed disc.

Amazon has lumped in user comments from the 2-disc release of Cool as Ice with the Universal Vault Series release. I wonder how many people will be misled into thinking that this release is a DVD and includes the soundtrack on CD. Then again, I'm probably the only one who was actually interested in this ever getting a release anyway.

Why does Amazon do this? Very annoying to say the least.

It basically makes about 90% of their reviews worthless, drives me nuts. Unless the reviewer is perfectly specific as to which version they are reviewing what was once useful info is at best worthless, and at worst misleading.

From what I've been able to determine, the second disc was apparently the soundtrack on CD. Otherwise, from what I can tell, there was no bonus content.

I think they've got some "intelligent" automation working here. Unfortunately, it's not so intelligent.

I amended a few old Amazon reviews I wrote when they were ported over to a newer version of the same title, just to specify which version was being reviewed. What a pain. This practice is definitely Amazon's worst, and I can't imagine they don't know about the issues it raises with users browsing the site. Surely they must get complaints, and yet nothing ever changes. I have to wonder if it couldn't lead to harmful situations involving things like appliances or power tools or electronics where glowing reviews from one product are ported to the product listing for a future generation of that same product that subsequently turns out to have a recall-worthy defect, and Amazon could be accused of misleading buyers who ended up getting hurt.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who did that. Nice to know I'm not. I tend to more frequently amend my reviews on IMDB, chiefly in instances where films that were originally available only on bootleg tapes or discs finally became legitimately available in clean copies, in their original language (usually classic kung fu). With Amazon, it's harder to keep track of where they move your reviews. I don't always know when something I'd reviewed when it was VHS or gray market DVD only has suddenly come out on fully legit DVD. I need to consider this when I review something.

Well I, for one, appreciate that you two do this. I know I usually just look at the amazon "this review is for..." header and jump to the next one, if it sint for the itmem I ma looking for. Usually I am looking for blu ray reviews, and the reviews they list are for the dvd.

Re: Universal Vault Series (Amazon.com exclusives)

Does anyone happen to know of a listing of the NBC television releases through Amazon MOD? I know of only a couple, some CNBC specials and a "Where in the World is Matt Lauer" DVD, but are there any others? There must be...

And I didn't realize I resurrected a year old thread! Yikes!

Save time and money, and buy local. $9.99 at Best Buy. BTW, the quality is great and the disc itself has print, not a plain DVD-R.

And sure, it's anamorphic.
