I've only watched Spy Kids 3D on my HDTV and it hurt my eyes. Are there any that are somewhat decent?

Coraline, Polar Express 3D, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Final Destination, My Bloody Valentine, Fly Me To The Moon, Friday the 14 Part 3.

Are they all basically the same in visual quality - meaning - headache? Has anyone been surprised by one being slightly more effective and/or less headache-inducing than another?

"My Bloody Valentine 3-D" was easier on the eyes with the yellow-magenta color glasses, but still didn't compare to the Real 3-D theatre experience. A lot of the 3-D effects in "Night of the Living Dead 3-D" DVD worked quite well, especially the shovel.

"Polar Express 3-D" I saw a lot of double imaging/ghosting, especially on the characters' faces.
"Friday the 13th 3-D" and "The Final Destination" were hard on my eyes, so I watched the 2-D versions instead.

Am I the only one who DOESN'T get headaches from watching 3D movies? Although, interestingly I watched Final Destination yesterday and when the movie was over I took the glasses off and for a minute or two I had a red tint in my left eye and a blue tint in my right eye. So I could close my right eye and everything had a red tint or close my left eye and have a blue tint. That's never happened to me before, it was very interesting.

I have no problem seeing these movies in 3D in a theatre... however, I have never been able to make it further than 10 min or so into an at home 3D feature. I just can't stand to watch an entire film at home in those conditions... that looks so poor... with cardboard glasses... just not comfortable viewing for me.

No headaches though.

I have yet to see a 3-d presentation, whether at home or in a theater, that actually looked any different than the standard 2-d movie. Maybe I have weird eyes.

The last super bowl used the yellow-magenta technique as well, if I'm not mistaken, for a few commercials.

I don't get headaches. I just think they look crappy.

I can't wait for the new home 3D systems to come out...I'm sure it'll be a smooth rollout just like BD

I wear glasses, so trying to put 3d glasses over or under just doesn't work.

So I avoid any 3D...at least until I go back to contacts again, but that may never happen.

I also don't get brain freezes. Instead I just get horrible cold pain down my throat around my chest.

There are some ocular conditions that affect a person's depth perception so you possibly may have one of those.

I normally don't get headaches but the picture quality is so bad I find it much better to just watch the 2D version.

The colors are muted to point where it looks black & white and then there is the ghosting.

Even watching Avatar in 3D IMAX, although well done, I didn't feel was necessary. I didn't really notice it was 3D after a while, I just got involved in the film. I suppose that's a good 3D experience.

3D is sometimes fun as a novelty for a half-time show or a film short but making it standard viewing isn't going to work very well.

It's possible. I would think that at least one of the eye doctors that I have been to over the years would have picked up on something.

Shout! Factory's release of THE STEWARDESSES is widely believed to be one of the better 3-D on DVD presentations, offering the film both in color and B&W (which some believe the 3-D works better in), with all sorts of deleted scenes and a documentary on the process.

I don't get headaches when watching a 3D movie at home, but I often will feel eye strain. I don't usually have that feeling when I go see a 3D movie at the theater.

I assume that most people can actually see a 3d effect on these titles, no? I personally havent seen anything other than the standard 2d presentation whether it is in the theater or at home.

I only have "My Bloody Valentine" and "The Final Destination" in 3D and to my eyes Final Destination looked pretty good compared to the former.
