Psych - The Complete Third Season
First of all, thanks to Universal for (so far) keeping the packaging uniform for the three seasons on DVD to date. I wish the side would stay closed, but that's my only beef with these book-like designs. They look great together on my shelf.
Now, then, as for the third season...has anyone had any playback issues with theirs? Every disc so far has had at least one episode that will "glitch" (i.e., freeze, or show a burst of scattered colors, etc.). We're watching on a Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-ray player, but I wouldn't expect that to generate a problem (unless the periodic color bursting is a result of it having a problem upscaling the SD signal, maybe?). Just wondering if this is a common problem and what to do about it.

i haven't had any problems with my season 3 set either.
The one thing that bugs me about the Psych season sets is the picture on the Season 2 cover looks nothing like Shawn Spencer in my opinion.

Re: Psych - The Complete Third Season
The season finale froze so much that our Blu-ray player actually stopped play altogether. So, we moved into the bedroom and watched on our DVD player...which played perfectly. I'm not sure what the disagreement between these discs and my BD player are, but at least I know the discs are, in fact, fine.
While I'm at it, what's up with the commentary track situation? Some episodes have audio commentaries, some have audio and video commentaries and others have podcast commentaries. The difference between an audio and podcast commentary basically comes down to 1) audio are recorded in a much more professional recording environment and include the episode audio track and 2) podcast commentaries seem to be recorded by creator Steve Franks' assistant and a writer. Then, for whatever reason, about half the episodes have no commentary at all! I've only watched a few commentaries so far, and I have to say that (audio quality aside), I prefer the podcast tracks. The audio track I played had entirely too many participants and it was hard for anyone to get enough clear speaking time to contribute anything interesting.
