Screw The Fast & The Furious.
You lose the race...you lose your life.
And while today's audience go for names like McLovin, nothing beats Gutterball or Skank.

Although, I think there is a region 2 German PAL release which contains supplements.
Lionsgate seems to be doing a complete 180 and actually putting out some quality discs recently. With this on the horizon I suppose there is still hope for a Gleaming the Cube SE sometime in the distant future.

I have the R4 Aussie disc that's widescreen. There's some decent widescreen transfers floating around out there of this movie. I'd be curious to check out what extras Lionsgate manages to pull together.

YES!! I have the Platinum release, but will definitely upgrade. And if there is a Blu, even better.

Between LG putting out The Gate and now The Wraith, I wonder if it's only a matter of time before another well-known OOP Platinum title gets a new SE: Trick or Treat!
Also, just like The Gate, I'll hold off on getting this DVD since I have a nagging suspicion it'll be released on Blu down the road.

Humming "Hold on Blue Eyes" while thinking about Sherilyn Fenn's sweet young titties... Now I can ditch my German dvd with the crappy forced 5.1 track (the DTS track was better, but only in German).

I hope this special edition holds up to the name. At this point, I'll simply take OAR but some bonus features will be nice.

Wouldn't mind picking this up. Always had a good time with this flick!

110% agree! Very good news, indeed.
What's interesting about the prior release is that it starts out in Widescreen, when the opening credits are playing, then goes to Fullscreen as soon as the movie proper starts.
Oh, and btw - anyone else ever realize how similar elements of this movie's plot are to High Plains Drifter? Which is fine by me, because that's another personal favorite, too.

Michael R. Fisher on the extras:
Lionsgate’s reissue of the supernaturally tinged 1986 car-chase flick THE WRAITH, which streets March 2. “We have a commentary by writer/director Mike Marvin, as well as a new on-camera interview with him,” Felsher reports. “[Co-star] Clint Howard gave us a wonderful on-camera chat for his featurette as well, and fans will really love that. He’s a great guy to talk with! The final featurette has interviews with the film’s stunt and transportation coordinators, who discuss the infamous Turbo Interceptor vehicle and the dangerous stunts. Turns out the car used in the movie is housed just a few miles from my apartment in Detroit. I knew living here would work

You and me both. I must have sold 50 of those over the past few years. Finding them for $2 at the pawn shop and flipping them for $30 was fun. IT's still set up as an Ebay template. Too bad, I'll have to mark that one off my list.

Just watched the new release, and definitely impressed. Picture was pretty clean for it age, and the film brings back some good childhood memories.

IGN Review say: "However, while the back of the box lists this version as the edited PG-13 cut, this DVD does, in fact, contain the uncut R-rated version instead."
nice little bonus.
