Does anyone own any canceled or delayed DVDs?

Does anyone own any canceled DVDs? I'm not talking about Out-of-print dvds, I'm talking about maybe buying the DVD early before release date and then the DVD gets canceled, pulled off the shelves, and/or delayed for some reason.

I had the Blades Of Glory Blu ray when it was ultra rare.

I have the I Know What You Did Last Summer DVD with the Kevin Williamson quote on the cover that was removed.

- Codename: Kids Next Door - Sooper Hugest Missions: File Two
Last I head the release was canceled but I picked it up last year at Ross for $4.99. I have never seen it anywhere else either. A great find for me! I love that show!
And of course there are DVDs I own that were messed up (ex: wrong episodes, wrong music, missing something, etc) and needed replacement discs. I never send back the messed up discs as I see them as collectors items. I have...
- Popeye The Sailor: Volume Two - 1938-1940
- Tom And Jerry: Spotlight Collection
- He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe: Volume One
I think that's it...

I have the BCI version of The IT Crowd: Complete First Season (sent out for review copies but never commercially available) which includes a couple extras that the MPI version doesn't have.

There were some copies of the original release that said "From The Writer of Scream" at the top of the front cover, but Miramax sued Sony to have it removed.

2019 After the Fall of New York (pulled to remove the commentary)
Kill Baby Kill (Dark Sky's version)
Ed Wood
The Flesh Eaters (Retromedia's uncut version with extras - supposedly only 50 copies exist)

I have the original pressing of The Omega Man that was never officially released, but was accidentally shipped with the later re-issue.

I see stuff like that on DVD's all the time, what were their grounds?

I bought Star Trek Generations - Special Collector's Edition the morning it was originally released, with the insert listing the trailers as included bonus features. These were all yanked very quickly and replaced not with DVD's including the trailers, but with inserts that no longer listed them.

I have the canceled 2-disc "The History Of Beavis & Butt-head" DVD set.....apparently Mike Judge did not approve of this set and it was recalled only like a week or so before it was supposed to hit store shelves, never to be officially released....some of them still leaked out though (mostly in Canada), it has some cartoons on it that were not on the three official B&B "Mike Judge Collection" volumes....

Was there anything different from one pressing to the next?

Not sure, the only thing I could find was this blurb on IMDB regarding the trailer which apparently had the same issue.

The original trailer for the movie described Kevin Williamson and the movie as "from the creator of Scream (1996/I). Miramax, owners of the "Scream" franchise successfully sued Columbia Pictures for "false advertising" and the phrase was removed.

It's been reissued since, but I snagged several of the recalled Boomerang discs from Borders.

The Song Remains The Same-got yanked immediately because of rights issue on one of the features. Reissued without this special feature.
Countess Dracula/Vampire Lovers-got yanked because disc has european version of Countess Dracula but back cover had PG rating. Reissue has R rating.

I grabbed this, too. I'm sure it isn't worth anything, but it is a bit of a geek trophy to me for some reason.

Re: The Omega Man. At this point, all I can remember is that it was announced, cover art was released and the discs were even pressed, and then it was canceled at the last moment. Sometime later, it was re-announced with new cover art (and possibly new special features), and when it came out, some stores (I know Borders, since that's where I got mine) had the two versions on the shelf side by side. I also remember it was fairly close to Christmas as it was one of those gifts I picked out for my wife to give me. I know there was some discussion on the the forums back then, but it's so long ago that my google-fu isn't turning up anything specific.

Ya, same kind of thing happened to the WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH/MOON ZERO TWO disc, because they had a G rating on the case for DINOSAURS and it was the uncut UK version with big naked cavegirl breasts. In this case, though, Warners just discontinued it completely instead of revising the rating. The first SWAMP THING release with the uncut euro-version was out for quite a while, but was then pulled for a couple of years after someone complained, but then it was finally reissued only in its shorter PG form. SLEEPAWAY CAMP box-set (with the unauthorized red cross box art) was pulled, but was also out on shelves for a while beforehand.

I think the only difference was that the 'canceled" version was a flipper with the FS and WS versions on the opposite sides, whereas the 'released' version with the white cover was single-sided with just the widescreen version.

Was it on the cover as well or just the insert? Interesting that the ST VI Collectors Ed didn't have an insert but originally Generations did.

Cover; there was no insert as such. Sorry for the confusion; I'm used to music, where the paper in the back of the jewel case is the "rear insert" and the front of the package is the "booklet." Star Trek V was the last of the series to receive a booklet insert.

I have the Shawshank Redemption set with the book and cd. Not sure how rare or valuable it is though.
