"How To Be A Man" / "How To Be A Woman" (Vintage Educational Shorts)
How To Be A Man review
How To Be A Woman review
For those who love the MST3K shorts (by Centron, Coronet, etc), then these 2 DVDs by Kino/AV Geeks hits just the spot. Anyone else get these? Hilarious at times, Disturbing at times, but hey, that was America at that time! (People looked a lot Whiter back then...)
The Interviews with Skip Elsheimer (the curator of these shorts, AV Geeks founder) is alss worth a listen. He doesn't provide a commentary, but he does give comments on almost every short during his interview, on the bad acting, to the differences in each film company that produced the shorts, and interesting techniques used (especially Centron, who later made the cult favorite full-length film "Carnival Of Souls").
I guess the only thing really missing is a MST3K commentary, but then again, this set is to preserve these shorts to show what and who these films were made for, not for mockery. Still, awesome set!

Wow, these look great. While I don't think a purchase is in order, an addition to my netflix queue certainly is.

The discs in Elsheimer's EDUCATIONAL ARCHIVES collection, released by Fantoma a few years back, some of which can still be had at reasonable prices, are absolutely essential for anyone interested in seeing this stuff treated with the respect and context it deserves.
