Wow, this thread is amazing! I didn't expect it to be so detailed in the results and highlights of each list. Very impressive. Thanks for making everything run so smoothly for this first timer who has watched the previous 1-2 years.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results
As expected, a great job on the results, Chad.
It's very interesting to see the actual numbers. In the beginning of the month, I thought there were going to be a lot fewer participants than last year, but I think we had quite a few late comers this year. Plus, I kept feeling like there were fewer really hardcore watchers this year; yet, we had more people reach 100 and over 1,500 more movies watched. Very interesting. Maybe I was just scrambling so much last year in my first challenge that I just perceived everyone at a quicker pace.
Thanks to everyone who participated this year. I had a lot of fun and saw lots of great movies. I'm looking forward to the horror club to tide me over until the next challenge!

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results
Wow Chad that summary is amazing. I just want to thank you for all the hard work you put into this.
I'm really surprised I placed in best list. There were some amazing jobs everyone did. And again I want to apologize for kind of falling out at the end there and the post challenge discussion. Life got crazy but I'll pick up the slack in the horror club which I could not be more excited for.
It was a fantastic first year for me and I'll be back for many years to come. I got a whole bunch of new movies to check out through peoples lists and had a ton of fun. The community here is great and again me and my fiance cannot wait for the horror club.

Congrats to everyone who won and everyone who participated. Hopefully next year I won't be so bogged down with so much work that I can hit my original goal of 100.
Great job on the list Chad. Extremely entertaining.

hey im 71st woohoo! thanks chad and everyone else for helping me get into these challenges this year
i did not participate at all, but read most of the posts in the thread. i guess this is normal for yous guys who normally participate, but i must admit i was a bit overwhelmed with all the kinds of banter (friendly and otherwise) going on. prolly mostly because im not a horror-nerd (i mean that in the best way of course) but also because of the massive posts, comments, insights, suggestions, variety, and so on. i look forward to hopefully continuing for a long time to come though!

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results
Why is this list a highlight of the year? I waited like a little kid on Christmas Eve awaiting Santa. For those of you who don't know who Santa is, he can be found in Silent Night, Deadly Night.
A great job as always Chad, thanks. Congrats to all participants, no meltdown this year, just a slight detour to Gordon Ramsay's house near the end.

The Horror Movie Challenge is the highlight of my movie-watching year, so thanks again to Chad for keeping it going. And kudos to those whose lists and reviews gave me ideas for next year.
Here's to 100 in 2010!

Class act, as always. Probably the best challenge ever. No fights. Only one douchebag. What's not to love?

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results
I agree, probably the best year so far. Seems like we had a lots of good conversation, a little less strife than usual, and lots of fun.
Oops, thought I edited my list in time, but looks like you got my total before I numbered everything for you and separated them instead of all MOH seasons on one line. My total was actually at least 155.
I know I've said this before, but next year I hope to try a little harder to make my list look nice, and include mini-reviews.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results
Excellent summation of the challenge, Chad! I look forward to the wrap-up thread almost as much as the actual challenge itself. I have a feeling next year will be even bigger and better. The boards were certainly abuzz for this year's event. I wish I could hit the fabled century mark, but that seems like an impossibility with my current schedule.

This was my first time and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the lion's share of the credit has to go to Chad... well done. Congrats to the winners and to everyone that participated.

I forgot to mention this in my earlier post, but I was very surprised that only 6 people completed the checklist. That seems really low. Has it been that low in previous years? I could have sworn we had a lot more finish the checklist last year.
