Steven Seagal's The Keeper 12/31/2009
20th Century Fox will be releasing yet another Steven Seagal masterpiece on 12/31/09, no word yet if it will be picking up some academy awards nominations for Steven's performance as a cop.
No Picture at the moment, but here is a link:http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=11969471
In the vein of "The Professional" and "Man On Fire", Steven Seagal plays an LA cop who after nearly being killed by his greedy partner, flees to New Mexico to work as a bodyguard for the daughter of a wealthy businessman. When mobsters kidnap her, he hunts them down to rescue her and protect her.
The film it self was directed by Keoni Waxman (Dolph Lundgren's Sweepers, Ving Rhame's Shooting Gallery and Seagal's next On the Run).

5 months away. Most people on this forum can't wait.
But probably between now and December, 4 more Steven Seagal films should be hitting the shelves.....

December? What gives? That's a long ways away. I need some Seagal comedy now.
Luckily his A&E show Lawman will fill the gap when it premieres in the Fall.

Oh man I know how I'm ringing in the new year...
I'm actually working through the Seagal filmography in its entirety... might be ready for that one by December.

If you want the absolute worst instance of a stunt double in any film ever, watch his film before last: Kill Switch. Not only do we get a forced fake Southern accent, but add in jittery repeat cutscenes, terrible acting, and a no non-sense ending.. but Seagal is no where to be found in any actual action scene. They superimposed the same shot of him moving back and forth to make it look like he was kicking ass but every punch is shown from the back of the stunt doubles head.

Just heard that Criterion is getting a nice 2-disc edition of "Above The Law" ready, complete with a nice booklet and a fancy replica of Seagal's pony tail. Can't wait!

I agree with above posters, endless amount of films with explosions and guns on his resume. Some of these DTV films have been really lame.

Some sixth sense tells me THE KEEPER won't be a keeper.
In recent years I've always thought Seagal's career was ON DEADLY GROUND and MARKED FOR DEATH, but it seems it's actually HARD TO KILL, even when, on a thread like this, he's UNDER SIEGE. Maybe he's ABOVE THE LAW after all.
Nyuk, nyuk.
