I think alot of people here are just being more careful with their money and don't have alot of disposable income lying around to buy DVD's all the time. If it's something they don't need right now, it's a pass. Or when the price drops below $10 then they may pick it up.

Also, more than half the time alot of these new releases don't have much replay value and are only good for 1-time viewing through a rental. I think alot of people don't want to waste their hard earned money on blind buying anymore and would rather rent 1st.
