What did the Circuit City exclusive have, exactly?
I believe it was a bonus disc containing more Piper's Pits.

Nah, he was talking about the exclusive with the DX set which was the subscription to WWE magazine.

The worst bonus disc ever - 10 mins long - bits and pieces of 6 Piper Pits - waste of time making up the disc
and also making a spindle to put the disc on. Seems the WWE had a boatload of the four spindle DVDs cases
left over, wanted to get rid of them but didn't want to take the time to produce at least a 30 min-45 min DVD
(like the bonus one for the Hulk Anthology) so they said lets throw bits and pieces of Pipers Pits on a disc so
we can fill up the empty spindle.

LB...

Nothing interesting w/c is same as Mysterio sets exclusive to CC a 3 month subscription w/ WWE Magazine.

Actually the Piper Exclusive set was one of the cool wwe dvd exclusives circuity city offered years ago. But your opinions are perfectly correct chief & even the worst part of it the 4th disc is only 700mb media content size fitted on a 4gb DVD disc.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

looks like WWE is planning on releasing another Hogan DVD, releasing November 17.

http://www.amazon.com/WWE-Hulk-Hogan...0138996&sr=1-2

don't see the point of another one since they released a 2 disc and then a 4 disc few years later...not sure what they will fill this one with, without repeating a bunch of matches available on other sets, unless they include majority of his major WCW matches.

It looks like a reprint of the Hogan Anthology set.

Unless we get lucky and they actually re-release all the old Hulkamania tapes that they promised us a couple years back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed still.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, the Piper bonus disc was a bust, but the extra spindle gives the set a nice "4-disc" weight to it, so I have no complaints.

Question for people that have the DX set: how is the quality of the matches? Not the ppv matches, I've seen all of them, but I see the match listing is a lot of TV matches, which is cool, except I have no memory of how much time they were given or how good they are. Any mini-reviews of the matches?

Thanks again.

Especially since it has (2006) listed next to the title.

I'd love to see another Hogan set, I think they missed a lot of known and unknown gems. I'd love to see:

-vs. Ric Flair - Halloween Havoc 1994
-vs. Vader (SuperBrawl V, Uncensored 1995, or Bash at the Beach 1995)
-vs. Randy Savage - Halloween Havoc 1996
-vs. Lex Luger - Road Wild 1997
-vs. Sting - SuperBrawl VIII
-vs. Randy Savage - Nitro, April 1998
-vs. Randy Savage - Nitro, July 1999
-vs. Kevin Nash - Road Wild 1999
-vs. Ric Flair - RAW, May 2002
-vs. Chris Jericho - SmackDown, May 2002
-vs. The Rock - No Way Out 2003
-w/ Shawn Michaels vs. Muhammad Hassan & Daivari - Backlash 2005
-vs. Randy Orton - SummerSlam 2006

It's your standard TV match fare. You're going to get exactly what you expect from a match with the Spirit Squad. There's no really spectacular TV matches on the set.

The biggest thing is that on many of the matches, they include what happened during the commercial, making the matches completely uncut. Wish they'd do that on more sets.

Well, that's kind of cool. Thanks!

One last question for people that own it: I won "Triple H: That Damn Good" on ebay. I've always wanted it for the match selection (a "lost" gem in HHH/Y2J and the 3 stages of hell match with Austin). But I didn't realize that it was released after May 2002, so it's a "WWE" DVD.

My question is: is it blurred and edited, or are the matches shown in their original form?

Matches are in their original form, unblurred.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Score.

Then instead of regret, I'm fairly excited for this one. I've always wanted that LMS match between HHH and Jericho, and I was so disappointed with the blurring for the 3 stages of Hell match on the Austin DVD. Thanks.

The LMS is also available un-blurred on the Stone Cold "What?" DVD.

That is quite a good list, but his match with Kevin Nash at Road Wild was terrible. Also, the match against Jericho will be part of the Smackdown DVD, but they did have another match in July. Maybe his King Of The Ring 2002 match against Kurt Angle could be on there, and some of his Mr. America stuff from April- June 2003. I would like to see the unmasking of Mr. America on DVD.

I agree, the match with Nash was terrible, but it was still important as a signifier that the NWO was truly over, and also somewhat of a "dream" match in WCW. I would love to see the KOTR match against Angle, too, but considering that he tapped out, I wouldn't hold my breathe.

As for Mr. America, again I think it would be cool, but the storyline turned out to be a bit of a waste, so I doubt they would mention it at unless, unless briefly.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I was able to get the Piper Circuit City Exc. DVD on the bay within the past 6 months for like $12.99 shipped. Not bad at all to have such a variant for so cheap even if the extras leave much to be desired.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I've just realised that WWE should have released the 6 Pack Challenge from Unforgiven 1999 between The Rock, Triple H, Kane, Big Show, Mankind and British Bulldog with Stone Cold Steve Austin as enforcer, as an extra on the Greatest Stars Of The 90s DVD.

Highspots.com is advertising Survivor Series Volumes 1 and 2, set for release on November 3rd. No Cover Art available.

I can't post links. It's in the WWE DVD section.

Silvervision have just released details on the Summerslam 2009 reigon 2 release, which will be released on Silvervision in October. They have announced a regular DVD, a Steel Book version, and the event will be the first Summerslam on Blu Ray.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Great news! makes sense since WWE are trying to treat Summerslam like Wrestlemania.

I hope they release it in North America as well unlike with Royal Rumble.

Something i noticed on CDuniverse.com, WWE looks to re-releasing Brock Lesnar Here Comes the Pain and Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior on Sept. 29, it says the Ultimate Warrior DVD will be 2 discs.

Warrior

Lesnar
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinf...15&style=movie

Also the Hogan DVD releasing on Nov. 17 looks to be a re-release from 2006, not sure why they're starting to re-release these DVDs unless they include some extras things like with Foley's Greatest Hits and Misses with a 3rd disc.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

My guess is the two disc Self Destruction Of The Ultimate Warrior will be the main disc from the first release and the bonus disc FYE offered.

For the Hogan set they may have fixed the audio on his match against Sgt. Slaughter at Wrestlemania.

I'd like it if they re-released the Bret Hart DVD with an extra disc.
