That's when DVDs are generally released

Both are "stalled" with the respective studios saying "no plans for further releases". There is rumor that LITB *may* get a new release late this year, but it's just that... a rumor. I've heard nothing on KOTH, although with "Reba" (also a Fox title) being finished this year after being stalled for just over 3 years there's hope.

Now that KOTH is getting attention on Adult Swim, I hope the rest of that series comes out before too long.

But, if you really want up to date information on new releases for TV shows, tvshowsondvd.com is your best bet. Better yet, go and vote for these shows to be released on there and you will get the news as it breaks on any future releases.

Well, as someone that works at a video store (in the South, mind you), I can attest that we sold quite a few copies of the seasons of Reba that were released.

By the same token, we typically have quite a few used copies of King Of The Hill in our store at any given time, and even those are rarely purchased...

Let's hope. Adult Swim has resurrected two dead series, so maybe it can at least get King of the Hill on DVD.

The weird thing is that I was looking at DVD Price Search last week and they said they were releasing Leave it to Beaver Season One on DVD again on 6/14/09. I don't know if it's a misprint or a reissue or what. Can anybody make any sense of that? Amazon also has it being released on that date.

I wish that Shout! Factory would pick up the rest of the seasons of LITB. I find it hard to believe that there was a demand for McHales Navy and not for LITB. Maybe the audience would be hard to define for LITB.

Reba is certainly a more broad based comedy than KOTH, however. I don't think it's fair to compare the two. Heck, I don't think KOTH will ever have the following that Family Guy and the Simpsons has either, but it's fan base is loyal.

They (meaning Fox) can manage to release smaller titles for movies on DVD that don't sell as well as the big titles, but the small titles have a loyal following. I don't understand why they can't do the same for TV shows. This talk of "the sales weren't good" seems like a load of bull to me. Not every show is going to sell like 24 and Family Guy. It would be like expecting a small cult film to sell like The Day the Earth Stood Still and then declaring you aren't going to release any more small titles for that reason. It just doesn't happen. So why the double standard for TV on DVD?

I suppose some may argue music rights...not worth it for shows that don't sell really well...but I can't really think of any music rights issues with KOTH.

Probably went out of print and now it's a new printing. Might be a good sign for future seasons, if it's successful enough to put into print again why not release the rest?

That would be great. King of the Hill is cancelled now so we know that 8 more seasons need to be released. It's been 3 years since the season 6 DVD but Reba is a perfect example of a TV show that we thought wouldn't see any more seasons released on DVD and FOX finally released the 5th season back in January and is releasing the final season this month.

If you have Netflix, you can stream the unreleased seasons of Leave It To Beaver.

Mary Tyler Moore is an example of this as well, although I'm pissed because they announced the rest of the seasons would only be obtainable through a complete series boxed set, so I ditched the ones I already owned, and now they're going back to release the individual seasons that remain first. Pisses me right off. Hopefully King of the Hill gets finished though, I really hate buying so many seasons of a show before they decide 'nahhh... not good enough to release anymore'. Jerks. I'm hating FOX more and more every year, it's just too bad they have so many good products that I can't help but buy.

Such a pity. For collectors who like complete series sets, that is really not all that useful.

In the next 5 years, or even sooner, I bet amazon will have almost every unreleased on their burn on demand thing. Its a great idea, and its guranteed profit because they only make copies once they have sold.

Personally I feel that any studio who starts a series release and does not finish it should be burnt to the gown!

Or the studios will continue to sit on these titles after releasing a few seasons and then release a complete series set thus screwing over the fans who already bought the first few seasons. Can we say Fraggle Rock?

I've been recording the stuff to my dvd recorder and then burning it. Also did it with Amazing Stories season 2.

I'd rather have something than nothing.

Now if they could only have King of the Hill.

What's the hold up on releasing Amazing Stories Season 2?

Same limbo the others are trapped in, as far as I know.

You want to immolate a dress? (The phrase is "burnt to the GROUND"! :LOL

One would think FOX would at least be able to toss out the last seasons of KOTH in one fell swoop. Though now that the last half of the final season was presented in HD that might be a problem too.

How about some Leave it to Beaver news?

Season 3 and the complete series coming June 2010 from Shout! Factory.
