I've been looking into the Beverly Hills Cop collection triple feature set, but haven't been able to find out much. Are the disc the same as previous releases ? What feature does the set have ? The special collector's edition looks really great, but I want to know if the dvd of the first movie in the set is the same as the collector's edition so I can decide wether to get the individual releases or the collection set.

i have the box set with the individual releases (separate keepcases in one box). i think there is one with all 3 movies in one keepcase.

the separate i have includes the SCE of Part I. and i beleive the other two has the special features (audio commentaries, etc.).

I have the triple feature set, the one that includes all three in one keepcase. And yes, all the discs are exactly the same as the ones in the separate releases.

So, the first movie in the triple feature set is the same as the collector's edition ? The same with the other two ?

The "Triple Feature" DVD of Beverly Hills Cop that features all three movies in a single-width keep case includes the same DVDs that you'd get buying the movies separately or in the "Complete Lineup" box set. All three DVDs have some bonus features, although there are progressively less of them with each film in the series. I believe only the first one is actually a "Special Collector's Edition" but in any case, there is only one set of BHC DVDs on the market and they have special features.

But I haven't been able to find anything out about what each set has in the way of features. Commentaries, documentaries, etc. Anyone here know ?

But I read somewhere that the first and third movies in the Complete Lineup set are fullscreen while the second movie is widescreen. I like the cover of the CL set the best.

I have the "Complete Lineup" box set....all three films are in widescreen....

I am 99.99% sure none of the three films have ever been issued on DVD in fullscreen.....

Are you sure you aren't confusing the fact that Parts 1 & 3 have a "flat" 1.85:1 aspect ratio while Part 2 is in "scope" 2.35:1?

Yeah, none of the Beverly Hills Cop films have ever been issued in fullscreen in the United States, if anywhere, and all DVDs on the market are identical. I'm not sure what the "Beverly Hills Cop Collection" is, but I know of the individual releases, the "Complete Lineup" box set, and the triple feature, which all contain the following tech specs and bonus features:

Again, discs with the above content are the only discs Paramount has ever produced for Region 1, in all iterations and versions of sets with BHC discs in them.

Since Brett Ratner is working on a fourth film, I imagine we'll see an even more elaborate special edition for the original movie, along with a Blu-Ray some time in the future.
