Thanks, that's good to hear. Yes, Rhino released the 1st 10 episodes on the new Shout sets as a stand alone release, thus throwing the order off on the new release. Glad to hear they'll be straightened out by Season 2. I haven't visited the forum over at Shout. Any word from B. Ward as to how fast they expect to get these released? I'm guessing we'll get Season 2 next year.

Re: Shout! to release complete series of Transformers and G.I.Joe summer 2009
Thatnks for reminding me. I completely forgot that I had gotten the first miniseries when it came out as a standalone set. So the new sets have the miniseries as part of the first season, correct? IE if I buy the first season set I will get the miniseries, plus what Rhino called the first season episodes?
*Apparently I did not have that right.
From the Shout! Forum:

There are several discs of bonus content in the sets. Contrary to popular belief, the breakdown will not be S1.1, S1.2, S2.1, S2.2. The first season had 55 episodes, while the second season only had 30. We've included the 10 mini-series episodes with the first season, so that's 65 episodes total, adding up to 95 episodes with S2. Therefore, the breakdown is S1.1, S1.2, S1.3, S2. S1.1 has bonus content on each disc, rather than a bonus disc. This was designed for breaking the discs out into single-disc collections like our upcoming "M.A.S.S. Device" disc. The remaining volumes each have a bonus disc of content. So, in the complete series collection, you will find bonus features on discs 1-4, 8, 12, and 17 (obviously, S2 will end up being a five-disc collection). Some of those bonus discs will include content not available on the individual season sets.
As for the time frame of its release at retail, nothing has changed since the last post. We have no time frame set for its release at this time. If you want the set, it is highly recommended that you pick it up from the site. While it's possible, I certainly cannot promise it will be any more affordable when it hits retail. When you look at the history of direct-to-consumer sales, the SRP typically runs a little higher when it hits retail in order to hit an acceptable profit margin for the label, distributor, and retail store. Since I'm not in the sales department and have absolutely no knowledge of those plans, I cannot say that's going to happen here, so don't go quoting me at other boards. But I am a major DVD consumer and have noticed this trend for years.

Well crap. According to that, Season 2 is going to be one whole season as opposed to split in 2. Looks like I will have a useless Rhino set when it's all said and done. Anyway, I shouldn't complain. At least we'll FINALLY have it. Now if Shout could get the rights to M.A.S.K.............

My wallet is trying to pry its way out of my pocket for these, so far I've succeeded in keeping it down, but for how long?

I have been looking at the ShoutFactory sites for the sets on and off today. If I hadn't just paid about $800 in bills today, with another $1000+ coming my way, I'd probably have ordered GI JOE by now. Time to rewatch my season 1 sets for each show to see if I really want to pull the trigger(s)...

I just came across my box of M.A.S.K. toys from when I was a kid. I loved playing with those things.

Why not sell the Rhino set and buy the Shout! season 2? I am sure season 2 will be cheap, since it is only 30 episodes.

For anyone who has bought the footlocker does it ship pretty quick or does it take a few days to process?

I'm really hoping for a release of the Complete Series to retail stores by the Fall. The wait is going to kill me.

Re: Shout! to release complete series of Transformers and G.I.Joe summer 2009
Is SHOUT going to realistically still release the final season on its own? I ask because I have all the Rhino DVDs and I just need those final episodes:
Season 2, Episode 16: The Spy Who Rooked Me
Season 2, Episode 17: Grey Hairs and Growing Pains
Season 2, Episode 18: My Brother's Keeper
Season 2, Episode 19: My Favorite Things
Season 2, Episode 20: Raise the Flagg!
Season 2, Episode 21: Ninja Holiday
Season 2, Episode 22: G.I.Joe and the Golden Fleece
Season 2, Episode 23: The Most Dangerous Thing in the World
Season 2, Episode 24: Nightmare Assault
Season 2, Episode 25: Second Hand Emotions
Season 2, Episode 26: Joe's Night Out
Season 2, Episode 27: Not a Ghost of a Chance
Season 2, Episode 28: Sins of Our Fathers
Season 2, Episode 29: In the Presence of Mine Enemies
Season 2, Episode 30: Into Your Tent I Will Silently Creep
It's either spend $150 (the Complete Series) to get these remaining 15 episodes or nervously wait to see if SHOUT is going to release these episodes by itself?

See post #102. I brought up the same comment/question. B. Ward (who works for Shout in some capacity) over on the Shout! forums says they plan on releasing Season 2 as one set so our Old Rhino Season 2 , Part 1 will be useless. No time frame given but my guess is early 2010.

Fuck - so its just in planning stages. And a whole season 2 would cost like 40 dollars.
Ericmylad, what r u planning to do?

For now, I'm going to wait it out and plan on just buying season 2 when it's released. I don't think Shout will screw us over like Rhino did. I like the looks of the footlocker and would love to have the series as a whole but I'm going to wait for Shout's Season 2. If the footlocker makes it to stores or to say, Amazon and is a reasonable price, I may bite but right now $145 is too much for me.

Received mine today! Can't wait to start watching tonight.
Did anyone else have issues keeping the outside carboard thing glued to the side and bottom?

After all the season sets of GI Joe have been released will all the extras be available that are a part of the complete series set?

That's the million dollar question. My guess is we wont know that until the season sets are all released. and by then it would be too late.

Re: Shout! to release complete series of Transformers and G.I.Joe summer 2009
It is clearly stated on the gijoecollectorsset.com website under the full product details that there are two features that will NOT be included in the individual season sets, here is the exact text:
"Eight new retrospective featurettes including two that appear only on this set - a conversation with Larry Hama and a voice cast reunion"
