Hello.

I hate to ask this, but as the two-disc "Quantum of Solace" arrives in stores today, I am reminded of the three-disc version of the other Daniel Craig 007 movie, "Casino Royale", that was released long after the two-disc version came out.

The fact that the "Casino Royale" was three-discs made it seem out-of-the-norm because of all of the two-disc Bond titles that look so great.

So, has anyone heard about a possible "more than two" disc version of "Quantum of Solace"? I guess, if it is coming out, then I want to wait to purchase a 3-disc version, and just Netflix Quantum of Solace right now.

It wouldn't surprise me as Sony loves double and triple dipping on franchise films.

One half of me thinks: yes, Bond 23 will come out November '10 or so, and probably that same month, we'll see a 3-disc release of Quantum of Solace to cash in.

Another half thinks: the reason Casino Royale could cash in was because it was an awesome movie. Most people aren't going to be too interested in double-dipping on QOS, simply because it just wasn't as popular.

I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to get the Target set or hold out for a potential 3-discer.

As EvlAsh pointed out, it's MGM/Fox here. Sony only handled home video distribution for Casino Royale.

I wouldn't rule out any Double-Dip once the next Bond flick comes out.

However, I seriously doubt Fox can match the amazingly lavish package design Sony produced for the CR 3 disc.

I bought the Target set, and sizewise, it fits nicely next to the CR 3 disc edition.

A part of me wants to hold out to see if they do another Collector's Edition around the release of Bond 23.

I picked up the 2-disc set today (only paid $13.99 since I work on the 20th Century FOX lot) and with only 40 minutes of bonus material and nothing really pertaining to the making of this movie or an audio commentary, I think it's a lock we'll see a double dip of this. Your probably going to have to wait at least until either the next Bond film gets released, which could be 2010 or 2011.

So happy that I didn't have to pay the $22.99 to $24.99 this is selling in stores. The measley amount of content makes those prices a rip-off IMO.

In a recent interview the director talked about recording a commentary track, that's not on the current release. So you know what that means!

Even though QOS didn't get as many favorable reviews as CR, it still made more money and when money is made, a studio only see's more potential money to be made. They love to release and re-release the bond films. The original films have been released around 7 times each since 1998!

I just went to Box Office Mojo and was surprised to see that while QOS had a much bigger opening weekend than CR in the U.S. ($67.5 million vs. $40.8 million), QOS made just $1 million more than CR overall ($168.4 million vs. $167.4 million). And the foreign total for QOS is actually less than CR ($408.0 million vs. $426.8 million).

I enjoyed the film as much as CR, but will hold off for at least a year or two for the double dip. Doubt I'll watch it more than once in that time, so free rental at redbox will do.

I think there may be a double-dip, but I don't know if it'd be a 3-disc. My guess is Casino Royale was like that because it was the "first" Bond movie.

I have heard rumors, but I wont be getting the double dip. I didnt do it for Casino Royale and I wont do it for Quantum of Solace. Maybe if i go to Blue Ray in the near future. Maybe.

It's pretty clear that we can expect a double dip when the next movie comes out. The current SE is pretty light on extras and it's essentially standard operating procedure to tie a double dip in with the sequel.

A doulbe dip on a Bond film is all but guaranteed. I bought the current BD of QoS because I enjoyed the film and I wanted to watch it a few more times, but I know I'll buy the BD SE when it comes out in 2011.

I just got the two disc edition and plan to watch it tonight.

As far as if there will be a double dip, it is a Bond movie after all. There were the barebone releases, the special editions, the ultimate edition box sets, separate releases of disc one of the ultimate editions, separate releases of the ultimate editions with both discs, a 3 disc of the 2006 Casino Royale, and even re-releases of the 67 Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again. For every woman James Bond sleeps with there will be a double dip. I can't say for sure if the re-release for Quantum Of Solace will be exactly 3 discs, but I'm guessing whatever they put out will make this special edition not so special.

I thought the third disc on Casino Royale was just a digital copy...at least that's what a friend of mine told me. I don't think he bought it, though...

Supposedly there is a definitive edition coming out later this month, but information about it is rather lacking. I wonder if it's been canceled?

I remember reading about plans for a double-dip but assumed it was canceled since Bond 23 was put on definite hiatus...
