Unsuccessful tv shows to be shunned on DVD?
From the late 50's-QT Hush(animated crime fighting show) ,from 1964-65-Baileys of Balboa(starring Paul Ford) and from 1967 -Captain Nice/Mr Terrific(2 superhero shows that copied each other that only lasted half-a-season apiece). According to Wikipedia they both started and finished on the same day.

The one that comes to mind and i would love to have it is "Hermans Head" was on in the 90's.

Another one i would love to have released is L.A. Dragnet

Re: Unsuccessful tv shows to be shunned on DVD?
Are you talking about unsuccessful from the studio's view or from the audience's view? Because there are plenty of failed shows that simply don't need a DVD release.
But there are some one season wonders that need new exposure.
My top pick in any discussion of this nature has been and always will be Nothing Sacred. It is criminal that this show didn't get more exposure and continue for several seasons.
When Fox had their first ever online poll of what fans wanted to see come to DVD as far as TV titles, this was one of the titles on that poll. (Wait...was it Fox or Universal? It was the same poll that resulted in Soap getting released.) Anyway, it was clear that the studio that ran that poll had the show in mind for a DVD release back then.
I say RELEASE IT ALREADY!
Seriously it's good. If Criterion ever decided to do a complete series set, I would recommend this as their first title.'
EDIT...The OP mentioned Captain Nice. DVDs of this show circulate the comic book convention circuit...there is clearly a market for this show. Why it's not out is beyond me. Some stellar talent was on that show, it's not like it was a bunch of nobodys.

Re: Unsuccessful tv shows to be shunned on DVD?
Here are some favorite failures of mine that I wish were on official DVD releases:
The Rogues
Max Headroom
Moon Over Miami
Buddy Faro
Special Unit 2
Seeing Things (actually not a failure, it ran for several seasons)

Shows that weren't given enough time to develop an audience and were pulled because of poor ratings.

All of these only lasted one season (and in most cases, not even a full season)
and I'd buy them all if they were released on DVD, which I doubt they ever will be:
The Class
Committed
Crumbs
Flying Blind
It's All Relative
It's Your Move
Normal, Ohio
Oh Madeline
Some of My Best Friends

Huff is one that comes to mind. The first season made it but the second didn't do as well as they hoped. I really enjoyed this show until Showtime yanked it.

I suppose I should also put a vote in for "My Mother the Car." As a very young kid, I loved it, too. I can't imagine my reaction now.

Bodies of Evidence: Early 1990's CBS series with Lee Horsley and George Clooney.
Journeyman
UC: Undercover
Threat Matrix: James Denton and Kelly Rutherford
Boomtown: Still pissed about how poorly season 2 was treated.
Kevin Hill
Close to Home: Labeled "Unsuccessful by CBS" because it has low 18-49 numbers, but was the #1 rated show by overall viewership on Friday nights for 2 years.
Sons of Thunder: Walker Texas Ranger spinoff
Time of your Life: Party of Five spinoff
E-Ring: Bastards at NBC ordered a full season, but stopped airing it after episode 14. 6 produced episodes are unaired.
The Nine: Had to buy a bootleg to watch the unaired episodes.

Am I really the only one who appreciated fledgling UPN series Pig Sty and Homeboys in Outer Space?
