Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 7 (original series)---> 5/19/09

Tvshowsondvd.com is reporting that Lionsgate will be releasing vol 7 of the TMNT original animated series on May 19th. The set will be divided in 4 separate releases coming the same day. Each set has an action figure. All of this is done to celebrate the 25th anniversary of TMNT. More details here:

FYI, it's Season 7, not Volume 7.

My bad. Mods please fix the title from Volume 7 to Season 7. Thanks.

Yeah, the cover art isn't that great.. but when has it been for this series (besides the very first season / volume )? I hate the "four volumes in one day" idea, though the part where the four covers can be put together in order to make one bigger image is kinda cool though.

This is the only time I'm not complaining about separate volume releases, although I believe they should offer one single release to the consumers that son't want/like the action figures.

Those are the same toys you can buy in stores right now. They re-released the 80s figures first wave this past month.

This is just a way for Lionsgate to milk more money out of us. I'm not happy about this release.

Really? Funny thing is that I still have the original toys from the 80's.

Tvshowsondvd.com is reporting that Lionsgate moved the release date up a week:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Tee...Season-7/11347

Retail price is $14.95 each. Hopefully, Best Buy or Amazon will have deals for the set, so we can get it for less than $30.

It's disappointing that there won't be a single release. I could care less about having all these figures and 4 different boxes, not to mention paying for them all.

Interesting! How did you do that, I've been wanting to combine my season 3 as well.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 7 (original series)---> 5/19/09

I saw the 4 DVD sets with the action figures and I'm disappointed. The figures are less than 3 inches tall and look like loose replicas of the original ones. Too much for $9.99 each.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 7 (original series)---> 5/19/09

I picked up Season 7 1,2 and 4 (sold out of 3) just to complete my collection of the Turtles and am disappointed also in the figures. This could have been a fancy little back Like Season 4 was and that would have been well and good with me for like $15 for all the episodes.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 7 (original series)---> 5/19/09

Ever since I heard about this release I though it was a bad idea. I think you would get a lot more buyers with a $20.00 season rather than 4 volumes at $10.00 each. But perhaps they figured this far into the season releases the only people buying them are true TMNT fans anyway, so they can do whatever they want to make some more money because the fans will still buy them. I dunno... I would have liked to have seen a full season release rather then 4 separate volumes. I might still hold out in hope they do release all 4 volumes in one cheaper set. If not I'm sure they will make their way into a buy one get one promotion on Deep Discount sooner or later.
And on a side note... The artwork is pretty lame.

wow totally forgot about this. Just went over to amazon and ordered it and was shocked it was released last week. I check out best buy every week and I'm pretty shocked they never got these in.

I really want the season but I'm going to hold out in hopes of a B1G1. No way I'm paying $40 for this crappy gimmick.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol. 7 (original series)---> 5/19/09

What a scam. $43.52 with tax out the door at Fry's. They had two copies of each volume. I grabbed all 4 @ $9.99 a piece. Lionsgate really is taking advantage of fans with this. The figures are ridiculously minuscule. I mean really, really small. So small I don't know if I can even stand them up anywhere without people needing a magnifying glass to see what it is (ok, not that small, but you get the point). This season is only 20 episodes.. easily a two- or three-disc release in one keepcase in a slipcover. Not this crap. I'm pissed but I'm a completest and I haven't seen Season 7 since it's run on CBS. I Know the inevitable "Complete Series" will come soon, too. Oh well.

Hopefully the complete series will have the missing episodes. I'd get it just for that.
