Friday Night Lights - Season 3 13 episodes on 4 DVDs for MSRP of $29.98

I would say chances are 80/20 I will pick this up. It was an outstanding season. Even with the super low MSRP.....It will probably be $19.99 on release week, I hope Universal puts together some good bonus material.

Will definitely get it. It's not even on TV in Australia (I don't think), but I've already managed to watch the whole season. I'm happy to buy a copy, if it means there's a chance it will help keep the show going. Besides, it was an outstanding season.

(This is the ONLY way I watch TV these days. There are no Logos,Pop-Ups & Banners to distract your attention, and I don't have to endure any five-minute periods of "Torture" every seven minutes so some huckster can obnoxiously hawk a product I have absolutely NO interest in buying!)

And I assume that the DVD release will include the longer, DirectTV cuts of the thirteen episodes.

I assume that season three will be played straight through then, and be done before the dvd is released.

Easily on par with the first season, so this is a no brainer. One of the best shows on TV. Period.

It looks like I can cancel my pre-order. I mean seriously why would Universal do this? It's like begging the fans to not buy the product...

Its no big deal to me, both season one and two didn't have all of its original music, and besides weren't the episodes shot for NBC, the longer cuts were probably filler scenes which we will be able to see in the deleted scenes which are going to be on the set.

forget that. I wont buy it with the edits I dont see why it would it be so hard to include the Directv cuts.

This is exactly my problem with this. Those cuts are still owned by Universal and they have them ready to be mastered. Why not? Your not going to save money or anything?

I could be because like an above poster mentioned that the footage will be in the release as a deleted scenes, but what-the-hell, haha.

It is a big deal. The music cuts are the reason I didn't buy season 1 or 2. And now music cuts and the NBC cuts. No sale. Great way to hurt a great show.

So I guess all movies when shown are TV should be released on DVD not the real version after all the stuff they cut out is just filler?

Never seen a second of this show, but have been buying the seasons sets as they are released so I will pick this one up as well.

In this case, weren't the extra scenes just filler that they shot for direct tv to fill out the hour?

I watched the entire Directv run and this is not a huge deal to me at all. There were probably 2 maybe 3 episodes that were slightly extended. Plus, all the season sets have been really affordable ($20) on release week, so getting the NBC cuts and a few songs cut out isn't going to deter me.

I've only seen the NBC cuts anyway (I have cable). So it's no biggie to me. If they put the other scenes in as extras, even better. Can't wait for seasons 4 & 5!
