Really. I would have it if it were available.

I got to see an uncut version in the theaters a few years back at a midnight showing.

The Elite Laserdisc had the scene in the deleted scenes, I think it also had commentary on it as well but its been quite awhile since i've watched it.

Guess I'll just pick up the 2 vhs uncut special edition
The VHS release is not 'uncut'. It's the theatrical R rated version with the deleted scenes as an extra feature. But the set is worth picking up for a couple trailer surprises that are not on the dvd releases.

I don't own it anymore, but it did have a red band trailer for part 2 and a full trailer for part 3. I think it also had the full trailer for part 5. The dvd/box set only contains the green band part 2 trailer and teasers for parts 3 and 5.

I saw it twice actually. I saw it again last year at a convention with Robert Englund in attendance. It was a whole lotta fun. Saw the uncut Swamp Thing right after NOES (and Englund's Q&A) were done.

Is there an uncut vhs? I read that elite put one out.
The only one I'm aware of is one of the earliest UK VHS releases. Which has since been replaced with the U.S. R rated version, as it's the main print used worldwide now. Also you'd need a PAL VHS player to play it if you were to locate a copy.

Someone posted a clip from that VHS on youtube last year(it appears be down in a recent search).

I remember that scene was in the original release in the theaters back in 84.

I was able to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street in theaters a few years ago... the crowd definitely didn't get into the film... a lot of people were actually laughing

Made me feel super old.

I have the 2-disc Video Treasures version. I haven't watched it in years. This thread has inspired me to go unearth it from storage and transfer it to DVD. Finding the box that it is stored in might be pretty time consuming though.

Same thing with me, but face it there are some pretty funny lines:

"God, I look 20 years old!"

Exactly. It hasn't aged well, but I still love the film

I saw it too when it was played in "select" theaters for the release of the Infinifilm DVD. Marge Thompson got a lot of laughs from the crowd.

I think it has aged better than most slasher films. The first is still a dark, scary film.

Nail on head. When Nancy smashed the vodka bottle, the auditorium lost it
