All I could come up with was Sweets. But he is a funny guy. Would have been great to get him back as the student who is now the teacher kind of thing.

Re: "Still Waiting..."

Adam Carolla is supposed to be having a guest appearance as some pervy cheesy sex expert... so in other words hes gonna be Adam Carolla. He's still one of the best comedians around and I think he's a major boost for this. As a fan of the original 'Waiting' and its comedy style I think I'll like this one too.

Clip of Adam Carolla as Ken Hasband in Still Waiting:

Re: "Still Waiting..."

I might rent it, but the first one is going to be hard to top. My wife and I both worked in the food industry almost ten years ago, so the film was funny in a truthful way. It's still one of her favorite comedies!

It's always hard trying to recapture lightning in a bottle for a second go-around. Look at Ghostbusters II, for example.

Re: "Still Waiting..."

I'm just amazed that I'm not the only one who loved the original.

A couple of mildly amusing bits in the trailer. I don't know, I'll probably wait until I read some reviews here first.

Luis Guzman explaining the the different techniques to show off his balls gets me every time. That, and for some reason i find Ryan reynolds absolutely hysterical, most of the time.

I don't care for Dane Cook too much, but his "no bacon on the salad' bit kills me every time.

I'll rent this.

Perhaps it's just me, but am I the only one that doesn't see the point in releasing both a rated version and an unrated version, likely with minimal differences, for a direct-to-DVD title?

You're not the only one. I would think that they could fit both version on the same disc, but I will be picking up the Unrated version.

I didn't even know about this either until I saw a picture of the cover on VideoETA the other day. As I stated before I'm not sure it will be good, but I'll give it a shot, why not?

Re: "Still Waiting..."

Found an extra clip on their youtube page that I thought was pretty funny:

Mildly NSFW

Lol, it's funny on such a basic level but funny nonetheless.

Mildly amusing, but +1 for hiring Krazee-Eyes Killah.

Re: "Still Waiting..."

Finally caught this the other night.

What a piece of flaming dog shit.

I'm all for offensive, un-PC humor; but I felt dirty after watching this. I've never seen a film where every other joke was a play off some sort of stereotype or just a flat out racial slur. The other jokes all involved shit, piss, or another gag involving someone's bodily functions or organs. I'm all for when tasteless jokes when there is a payoff story wise, but I felt like the cast and crew of this film love going to the bathroom, but hate blacks and Jewish people.

All the fun, charm, heart, and satire on the restaurant culture that the first one had is completely devoid in the sequel.

On a side-note, as an audience member who enjoyed the original one, I feel cheated with some of the routes the returning characters take in the sequel ...
Spoiler:
... especially that of Justin Long's. The whole final act of the original was him finally quitting and going back to community college. At the final act of the sequel, we find out he hates his life as the regional manager of the restaurant. Um, yeah, great way at invalidating the story of the first flick.

Couldn't agree more. I was pretty bummed as well. I choose to forget this was ever made.

Sounds like I can hang onto my $14.95 then. Pity.

I finally watched this the other day. It had a few slightly amusing parts but, for the most part, it was pretty damn bad.

I felt the same way. The new cast of characters were no match for the gang in the original. I liked the scenes with Nate & T-Dawg, and the cameos were fun, but that's about it.

Wait, wait, wait...
Spoiler:
Justin Long came back for this? Seriously? Damn did he spend all his Mac money or what? Is he back in a quick cameo or what?

Yes.
Spoiler:
Justin Long is in the flick for about five minutes tops. He plays the regional manager who tells the new restaurant manager that he did not get the district manager position. Besides that, Long spends his entire time on screen telling everybody how shitty his life has become.

Wow. Even Thomas Ian Nicholas had enough sense not to come back for the direct to DVD American Pies. Wonder why he did it.

I was under the impression that when in production, Still Waiting was going to be released theatrically.

If you look back when the original was released theatrically, I was pretty vocal on here about how I thought it was a disappointment.

Once I caught the flick on DVD, it began to grow on me.

According to the documentary on the DVD, they made it pretty clear they knew it was going direct to video from virtually the beginning and it was made under those parameters...

Spoiler:
I'm guessing the main reason Justin Long came back was simply as a favor to the writer/producer (who was the writer/director on the original film) and to the director (who was the producer on the first one)....

I found the deleted scene where they explained the absence of Ryan Reynolds kind of amusing....too bad the actual movie wasn't....
