I can't remember the first one I bought, but the first pre-recorded VHS I owned was "Making Michael Jackson's Thriller". I got it for Christmas in 1984.

It was Alien and Aliens for me. Part 3 hadn't been made yet.

I owned several VHS tapes before I paid for any with my own money. In 8th grade, I was on the wait list for a trip to Chicago, and I had to save money to get to go if someone canceled or was disqualified. That never happened, so I bought my very first VCR, a Sanyo. To go with it, I also bought Batman Returns and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze. Batman Returns was the first one that I watched on my new VCR in my room for the very first time.

I'm pretty sure it was E.T. back in 1986.

It was an Abbot and Costello double feature with Africa Screams and Jack And The Beanstalk. I can't remember why I bought it, but I selected it from some bin in a grocery store. I also remember the first movie I rented, The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking.

I had a very strange childhood.

I only ever owned two VHS tapes: Bottle Rocket and the WS version of the re-done Star Wars Trilogy. Don't remember which I got first.

The Hulkster, Hulk Hogan. A Christmas present in, I believe, 1987.

I purchased more 'used' VHS tapes than I care to recall, however, my first was Dogfight with River Phoenix - or - The Last of the Mohicans'. I'm almost certain that it was Dogfight.

None. I always saw them as another "tape" product. I never had luck with cassette tapes (played fine one day, next it was bad) so I never wasted my $$$ on VHS. DVD was the first movie media for me.

The first one I ever got was Batman (1989) that my Dad bought me for X-mas. The first ones I can remember buying were the 3 Indiana Jones movies at McDonalds when they were $5 each.
