I have the previous SD dvd special edition of The Shawshank Redemption (and read that the new Blu-ray is the same transfer source), so I was wondering if it's worth getting the Blu-ray? How much better in PQ is it than the SD dvd on a hidef display?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this is in the wrong forum.

The dvdtalk review tends to think it's not much of an upgrade.

I like the movie a lot, and rented it on BD. I won't be purchasing the current BD.

If you have it on SD DVD, take it out for a sping and use it as an excuse to not rush out and buy the BR... which will only drop in price overtime.
