I'm happy to see this getting a release....haven't seen it in so long, plus it has Bob Uecker!

Streaks on the china,
never mattered before,
who cares.

When you dropped kicked your jacket
As you came through the door,
No one glared.

But sometimes things get turned around
And no one’s spared.

All hands look out below
There’s a change in the status quo.
Gonna need all the help that we can get.

According to our new arrival
Life is more than mere survival
We just might live the good life yet.

Great news! I won't be getting this, but it's great to see some of these shows getting released. It gives me hope that other shows may still get a dvd release.

Very cool I loved show back-in-the-day.

bluetoast 12-10-08 03:30 PM

Just last week a friend and I were thinking about what would happen if Mr. Belvedere were drunk on Belvedere vodka while working (despite us both never having seen the show). Was wondering about the DVD sets, and now here they come!

I agree. Part of me wants to get this just to show support for this kind of thing.

I haven't seen this show in YEARS! I'd love to see it again, but I don't see myself buying this.

I just remember Stewie singing the theme song in Family Guy.

Was this show any good?

Yes, it was very realistic. An average, 1980's middle-class American family that employed a snooty English butler. Just like so many other middle-class American families in the 1980's. Just another reason why the 1980's were so awesome.

Awesome! The cult of Brocktoon lives on!

...I always thought it was "Steaks on the china". Learn something new every day.

It fear it would culminate in Wesley's loss of virtue.

You've pretty much nailed it! Viva la Belvedere!

A great sitcom with many funny moments, such as the time Wesley got molested at camp, Bob Uecker foiled a date rape, and another kid got AIDS.

Well shit, that's reason enough to buy it right there!

JackBurton 12-11-08 06:54 AM

Glad to see this come out. Hope they keep 'em comin' with shows from this era.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'd also add Belvedere getting kidnappedn and tortured and the death of some old people.

dadaluholla 12-11-08 08:17 AM

This could possibly be the best dvd release of 2009 for me.

cinemaphile 12-11-08 09:07 AM

Now if only Sony woud just get their heads out of their asses and allow Shout Factory to do Parker Lewis Can't Lose!!! But alas, so far they neither want to put it out OR let anyone else do it.

Zen Peckinpah 12-11-08 12:08 PM

I heard about the pedophile one and the AIDS ones, but wait a minute. They had "very special episodes" involving kidnapping and torture, date rape, and old people dying? Was the latter dealt with in an unintentionally funny way?

Wow. I thought just the theme song was funny.

Snowmaker 12-11-08 12:17 PM

People really want this? I can barely remeber the show and I watched it.

One of my favorite SNL skits. :)

Wow. I thought just the theme song was funny.

Belvedere got kidnapped by some distrubed woman who was "in love" with him, real "MIsery" type situation.

In another episode Heather and her friend Angela rescue/kidnap and old man from an old folks home and take him to Atlantic City and he dies on the boardwalk in a wheel chair.

Then there is the classic Christmas episode where Kevin moves into a flop house/crack hotel in order to play football after he gets into an arguement with his dad. And of course the episode where Kevin goes out with an ugly fat chick to win a bet. Kevin was kind of a dick.

jeffkjoe 12-11-08 12:48 PM

In this recession, who has the money to shell out for Mr. Belvedere?

Lemme rephrase that: If it's 12:01 AM on a Sunday morning, will someone suddenly need to get their Mr. Belvedere fix?
