Well I definitely remembered Mr. Belvadere, but I apparently was combining that show with Webster. Which I think would be a great show honestly. Anyways, trying to refresh my memory, I stumbled across these on YouTube. Thought I'd share:

rotfl EDIT: I'm so glad to see someone else found this shit hilarious enough to post. Hell, it's worth two consecutive posts. |
WTF?Was that for real. What kid would have wanted a visit from Mr Belvequeer?
I remember watching Entertainment Tonight one time and when they mentioned that Max Headroom(a show that my Dad and I really enjoyed)had been cancelled, and would be temporarily replaced by Mr Belerdere,my Dad said,"Mr Belverdere?!Who the hell wants to watch Mr Belverdere?". |

Belvedere got kidnapped by some distrubed woman who was "in love" with him, real "MIsery" type situation.
In another episode Heather and her friend Angela rescue/kidnap and old man from an old folks home and take him to Atlantic City and he dies on the boardwalk in a wheel chair. Then there is the classic Christmas episode where Kevin moves into a flop house/crack hotel in order to play football after he gets into an arguement with his dad. And of course the episode where Kevin goes out with an ugly fat chick to win a bet. Kevin was kind of a dick. |

Then again, you'd also wonder who would watch Full House enough for eight seasons. And yet, each season is available on DVD.

Does Mr. Belvedere ever do battle with that crazy woman who was stalking Uecker for 20+ years? That would be worth seeing.

I was thinking of getting the episodes from a trader online but I'll wait until the official release... I used to watch all the time, but the last season or so, they kept changing the time slot, then I found out later there were about 10 episodes that never aired...
|
I would love some extras that give us insight into the insane plot lines.
Or the War with Sledge Hammer |
That video almost had me in tears....I don't know why it's so funny, but it just was.
|
I would consider buying the "very special episodes".The "Misery"one sounds like a hoot.
Maybe not as unintentionally funny as the Natalie rape episode of Facts of Life or the Diff'rent Strokes where Dudley is "touched" by that guy from WKRP... |

Not one of my favorite shows, but I did enjoy watching this back in the day when ABC actually produced good comedies.
It's kind of sad that Christopher Hewitt already passed away. I wonder if Shout! will do some kind of retrospective feature on him. This DVD will have 29 episodes since season 1 was only 7 episodes. I may consider getting this depending on price. If it's in the $24.99-29.99 range. |

I'm not giving Shout Factory any money because I am a whiney cry-baby.

Currently digging through my screener copy, looks pretty nice. Decent technical presentation and and a pair of solid extras: a short retrospective featurette with the entire Owens family (minus Tracy Wells) and the SNL "Brocktoon" skit. Was hoping for at least a few commentaries or a Hewett tribute, but fans should enjoy this one. I should have a review up by Sunday.

Re: Mr. Belvedere in 2009 from Shout!
I'm surprised (but pleased) to see the Brocktoon sketch is on there.
But no Tracy Wells??! what the hell? |
