[REC] is an awesome film and one of the better ones using the cam-view perspective. I'll rent Quarantine first to see if I like as much as the original.

REC is coming out in R1 (Canada) next week. Barebones though. Does any other region have extras that we may get in the US eventually or should i just get the CA one?

$25.49 CDN for the Canadian release? That's a pretty ridiculous price, especially with no special features.

There's a All-Region NTSC Singapore release that a lot of places are selling for about $14-15 American (it's also bare bones). Anyone have it and confirm whether or not it's a good version to get (barring the lack of special features)?

I'd like to know about the quality of this release too. I've almost ordered this version a couple of times, but I'm worried they did a poor job on the transfer or something.

The Sony DVD of QUARANTINE (2/17) features a trailer for REC. This isn't a special feature, it's simply imbedded in the standard list of bonus trailers which accompanies any Sony release. To me, this implies that Sony picked up the U.S. rights when they got the remake rights. Does this mean that we can expect an R1 release soon?

Mine didn't.

Amazon.uk has a 2-disc special edition of "[Rec]" (R2) for $7.69 before shipping (don't pay attention to list price, it gets cheaper as you go through checkout). Shipping is $5.16 ($1.46 for each additional item) and they arrive in a week.

I just received it yesterday and haven't watched it yet so I can't comment on the extras, but here's a list from the back of the box:

I refuse to watch "Quarantine" for the simple fact that the trailer ruined the ending of "[Rec]" for me.

Picked up Quarantine at Walmart w/ Bonus disc for $19.96. The bonus disc is 19 mins and 21 seconds. Its about the sets and lighting. Not bad especially since most stores sell the 1 disc for $19.99 this week. No slipcover and no insert. Disc art is a scene from the movie and not a boring grey label.
