Loved this movie!
|
Yeah, I had a great time watching this movie.
|
Blind buying this since I am a fan of anything Apatow and Rogan/Franco is a plus!
|
I like the 1-disc artwork better. I need me some McBride action. The 2-disc looks like Harold & Kumar. Pretty sure I'm getting the 2-disc anyway.
|
Didn't care much for the movie but I have to say the single disc artwork is much better
|
Franco alone is enough of a reason to see this movie; the guy is damn funny.
|
Can't wait!!!
|
I'll get the 2 disk version. great movie, although I'm not a huge fan of Seth Rogan. Mcbride is worth is alone.
|
also, doesn't this seem a bit late for this release? it seemed tropic thunder, pineapple express, step-brothers.....all came out around the same time.
I was hoping this would come out by Christmas. |

Oh, so much good stuff. This was my favorite comedy this year. I hope to see some store exclusives.
|
I was a little dissappointed by Pineapple express. I will most likely puick it up, but I didnt think it was anywhere near as enjoyable as Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I definitely like the artwork for the single disc version better than the artwork for the two disc version.
|
I'll probably pick up the Blu-Ray sooner or later...
|
I thought "Zack and Miri" was better, but I'll pick up the Blu-ray eventually.
|
I was at the screening at Comic Con and was hoping some of the Q&A from there would be on the disc. :( (Although I'm sure the stuff from the panel was much more entertaining in hindsight.)
Despite my feelings on the overall subject matter of the movie, I loved the thing. It was pretty brilliantly done. Can't wait to see all the extras! Danny McBride stole the entire movie. |
I got the 1 disc Unrated version (which includes the Unrated and theatrical versions) and I'm afraid that the audio is all out of sync throughout, not matching lips (with unrated as well as theatrical version). When I pause the DVD and play again, it plays fine for a couple minutes, but then goes back out of synch. I tested some other dvds and there was no audio problem with my DVD player and my audio/receiver. Is this just like a rare case of my receiver/dvd player and this Pineapple Express DVD not handling each other?
Well, just be on the look-out for anyone that buys/rents this dvd. Keep a close eye on the audio being in synch with the lips...thanks! |

You know, I dig Seth Rogen, but I've yet to embrace one of his movies-- those in which he plays the primary character. Tried to get into Knocked Up, but never really felt it. And now Pineapple Express has done little for me. Good enough for a single viewing, but nothing I would care to own. --THX |
Great movie, but I think I'll wait for it to go on sale. I've got to start spending so much money on movies.

has anyone seen any exclusives on this? i did not see any in target, bestbuy, or circuit city's ads this morning. i guess the only ones left are walmart or costco. . .

Walmart.com lists an exclusive version of Pineapple Express, but doesn't yet have any specifics:
(the site won't let me post a URL since I have less than 15 total posts made) This is priced at $19.96, and is listed separately from the single ($16.86) and double ($22.86) editions; could someone post info when they get it (I don't live near a walmart and have to order through the mail). |

Same. Wasn't expecting to care for Sarah Marshall, but got into it, loved it, and ended up buying it. Not so much for Pineapple Express.
I found FSM absolutely forgettable (pun, intended), with little to no laughs and characters I didn't give two shits about - it was also poorly directed and edited. Pineapple Express, however, was the most fun I had in the movies in a long time. Everything about the movie clicked for me, from the characters, the humor, the absurdity of it all, and the half-realistic action giving way to the full-on ridiculous action scenes - I found it to be very enjoyable and am really looking forward to the Blu-ray - though it's weird that there's no reviews for the dvd/bluray yet. |

It was the complete opposite for me.

It's kind of a difficult movie to make exclusives for. I mean, sure, a third bonus disc would have been cool. What other freebies could they really offer, though? Free rolling papers? Cannibis leaf car air freshener? Daewoo-shaped DVD case?

Re: Pineapple Express ---1/6/09
i stopped in walmart this morning before work. their 'exclusive' was the 1-disc unrated bundled with Joe Dirt for 19.96
HAPPY NEW YEAR TALKERS!! |

They did a Q&A panel at the actual Con and then there was an offsite screening of the actual movie later that night that I attended. They also did a Q&A there, but it was much more informal, and really not that funny per say, so I'm sure the other stuff is better anyway. (I was in the front row, so it was just all just a purely selfish want anyway.) It was super awesome though! Got to meet everybody and they were all really cool folks!

Was this the screening with Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes in the audience? I was there too! My friend asked the nonsensical "Bromance" question, he tried to clarify the question to David Gordon Green at a signing the next day and he (Green) caught me rolling my eyes and shook my hand when my friend turned away. Comic Con is a magical place.

Yeah totally! My wife asked the final question about how they decide on what references they use in the movies so that they aren't dated within a year of being made. And she got booed. Until Seth said "Fuck you guys, I think it's a good question!" rotfl
