This is wonderful news - I'm always interested in classic Japanese cinema. I'm glad I held off on the Shochiku sets. Hopefully the other three films included will be the other three titles from the first Shochiku set, so I'd only have to possibly shell out for the second volume.

I've been wanting to see some of Shimizu's work for a long time, and now...wow, I'm gonna get to.

Do we know if this will be an actual Criterion release or Eclipse?

I'm going to guess Eclipse, since Shimizu isn't as well known as Ozu or Kurasawa.
