...because what's already available holds little-to-no appeal. The problem is, they're releasing the ones most people don't care about and not releasing the ones that actually WOULD sell quite well.
And I'm not gonna buy stuff I don't care about just in hopes it will make them release the ones I want. That's just dumb rationale. It's like saying, "I should spend my hard-earned money and buy movies like Epic Movie and Date Movie even though they completely suck - because that will make them release GOOD comedies!"

As mentioned, the Blu-ray only has two additional extras. The theater and casting which are both about 6-7 minutes each.
The remainder are on both...
The Final Days on Broadway - Around 35 minutes (give or take) that was filmed during the last few weeks of the show's run and the impact it has had.
The Final Curtain Call - Around 7 minutes and involves alternate footage from when previous cast members show up on stage to sing an encore of Seasons of Love. There's a lot of footage of the audience just in tears.
The Wall - Another 7 minutes or so about the stage wall and all the "notes" fans have written about the show.
The Final Lottery - Another 7 minutes about how the lottery process worked and how many fans showed up at the final performance along with how sad the staff was that this would be the last time they got to see the lottery.
Almost an hour of material that compliments the 105-minute documentary on the two-disc special edition DVD.

I don't know if it's still on tour but I saw the latest tour version of 'Rent' with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal at the Warner Theatre here in DC (May 2009) - and it was simply fantastic - while the film has the original cast, the 'live' disc is obviousily the comprehensive and superior version of the musical.

the extras on the DVD, while short, just cement the phenomenon and impact that Jonathan Larson's legacy provided.

I know this thread is pretty ancient, but I'm just curious-- did the Blu-ray for this title ever come with a slipcover? (I know the standard DVD did.... it was nice & glossy too!)
EDIT: By the way, I know this probably should have been posted in the HD forum, but this thread came up in a search function & I didn't realize that it was in the regular DVD Talk forum.
