From the looks of it Best Buy will carry 6 discs.

Basically the first 3 discs (Heatseekers, Lawler & JYD, Slaughter & Flair) will be included like all retails will be selling, and the 3 additional discs (Piper & Funk, Hogan & Backlund, Andre the Giant & Iron Sheik) will be a Best Buy exclusive.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

I watched the documentary for Starrcade...not that bad for only being 50 minutes.....big gap around 90 til Goldberg....but I can deal with it. Hopefully if sales are good enough we could hope for a Starrcade box set down the road.....and a King of the Ring....and In Your Houses

I'd really like to pick that up, but I know the box is going to be all cheap and f*cked up like the first "Cross the line" set, but for these three ppvs, it might be worth it.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

I agree, the covers for each DVD will just have the PPV logo in plain black. The ppvs however were really good, so for $20 seems like a steal of a deal.

That's exactly how the ad in the new wwe mag is describing it.

Extra Piper, Hogan, and Andre stuff is pretty tempting. I'll wait to see the match list.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

That 6-disc set sounds very tempting. I'll wait for a match list as well, but I'll likely wind up buying it.

I got the Starrcade DVD on Tuesday at Wal-Mart. I haven't watched the doc yet. I went straight to the matches.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Yeah, but the question is if the Best Buy 6 disc version of the Legends set is going to be the same price? Or more? I wouldn't spend $35 for the 3 disc set, but for 6 I would definitely be looking to purchase. Hmmmmm.

I may have a Raw Homecoming DVD up for trade soon. I'm looking for:

- Armageddon 2008
- Insurrextion 2003
- Divas Desert Heat
- Divas Do New York
- $250K Diva Search

- Viva La Raza with the Raw Tribute Show
- Edge: Decade of Decadence (only the Best Buy Ultimate Fan Edition)
- Hell in a Cell (only FYE exclusive with Kane or UT busts)
- Legends of Wrestling (6 disc Best Buy version)

- also cash is acceptable

Yeah, really. I hope it's not like the Eddie or Edge sets where they're jacking it up to $50.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Does anyone know (besides purchasing the video game) how to purchase the WWE Blu-Ray DVD Best of Raw vs. Smackdown or does anyone have 1 to sell or trade?

Thanks.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

There's no barcode on it so i'm assuming they don't plan on giving it its own release. Ebay is your best bet.

Are you saying you want all those items for the Raw Homecoming?

Oh, I was thinking that you were seriously over appreciating the value of the dvd.

Its not a blu-ray, but if anyone needs the (Gamestop Exclusive) Steelbook Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 bonus DVD... hit me up!

Anyone find a price of the exclusive Legends 6-Disc Best Buy set?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

So- Circuit City stores are closing, and apparently the liquidation sale starts tomorrow. Think it's a worth a trip strictly to look for wrestling and MMA dvds?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Not at first. They'll jack everything up to MSRP and then knock 10% off...essentially putting them at the same price (or higher) than they are today. Next week when they go up to 20% off may be a decent time to look.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

This may have already been answered, but with the Starrcade DVD is the first disc just a documentary? Or is it documentary footage spliced between matches? Also, are the matches full or clipped?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Full typical WWE documentary with interviews and match clips inserted. Then bonus matches and 2 other full discs with matches.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Honestly I think it's time someone start a petition or email campaign for WCW anthology sets. With the amount of people subscribed to WWE 24/7 for the classic PPVs/TV shows I think that alone shows there's a demand. There were also tons of people that watched and supported WCW and from the sounds of it this Starrcade DVD should do some good numbers. I know it might sound foolish to some by thinking an internet petition or email campaign might get us these, but keep in mind enough people spoke up to get The Blue Meanie hired back. All this would cost us is a minute or two of our lives.

I think I'm going to buy this Starrcade DVD. I still want a Starrcade anthology, but even if it is released at least I'll have a documentary about it.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

The main thing I wanna petition the E about right now is their packaging of these sets. I hate cardboard foldout cases. The edges get ragged and they end up looking like crap after a couple of years.

I really wish they would go the steelbook route. I mean there are 3 disc steelbook cases out there. I would gladly spend a little extra money to have these sets in steelbooks.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

i would rather "best of" wcw dvds first rather than anthologys
a 3 disk best of wcw featuring all the best matches and moments from 96-98 would be better than a starrcade anthology

there were lots of wcw ppvs just like wwe ppvs that were uneven, maybe couple good matches but overal lots of filler stuff, a best of dvd could feature all the best moments and matches from nitro's, wargames, havoc, WW3, etc

or they could release just the very best wcw ppvs, maybe the top few ppvs voted by the fans or something

but before all that i want a wcw dvd thats like rise and fall, that has a full doc plus the best matches and moments, that needs to be done first

p.s.when do the first numbers come in for the starrcade dvd, and when they do can somebody post them on here, i think this might do as good as the rise and fall of ecw, its selling great everywhere, went to 2 different stores that always have the new wwe dvds, only time something was not there was rise and fall of ecw, i went to both of them and they said sold out try again 2 weeks
