Yeah, me too. Post an untouched screenshot. I seem to remember a few years back someone claiming the same thing about a movie. Turned out their tv just read the Zoom flag from the dvd and it was just cropping the black bars like any other letterboxed dvd.

Now that's funny. Wonder how the dumbass felt after they realized that?

The copy I just purchased DOES NOT include a 16x9 'Lifeforce.' Presumably it is the same disk that has been available for the last ten years minus a "collectible booklet:" scope transfer letterboxed in a 4x3 frame, with a trailer as the only extra.
The good news (for me) is that I didn't already own 'Lifeforce.'
And I didn't already own a 16x9 'Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.' I am hopeful that the extras from disk 2 will show up in a future Blu-ray release. This disk is disk 1 from the somewhat recent special edition (and is labelled that way.)
And the 'Alien' disk is the original release featuring isolated score, and what I think is another Scott commentary that does not appear on the Quadrilogy set. I only have the Quadrilogy version, so there's another plus for me.
I'm OK with the $7.99 purchase, but I wish 'Lifeforce' was 16x9.

The news from theWitcher pretty much puts an end to my hope for 16x9 Lifeforce bliss.
Still, not to confuse the issue, but looking at the product details for Lifeforce on Amazon, it states that the DVD was issued May 27, 1998 and that is certainly bad news. Then, look at the line above and it states -- Fox/MGM Home Video preorder: Sept 11, 2007. So, I suppose there's a small, small chance that MGM rereleased the title and then made the video an anamorphic one with little fanfare.
But, this is unlilkely. Oh, well.

No need for those comments.
The package clearly said enhanced, he put it in and it looked enhanced. A lot of us get confused by such things.
OP. Thanks for the post, even if it turned out to be wrong. We're here to help each other.

Well, this is not that bad a deal if you don't own any of the three movies, or maybe just one of them. That's especially true if Body Snatchers is the recent anamorphic transfer. That leaves you with only one non-enhanced disc.
But since I own all three of these discs separately, the wait for an updated Lifeforce will go on...

My disc of Lifeforce has a copyright year of 2008 on it. It's the 116 minute version and has a trailer. What copyright year is on your disc, theWitcher? Body Snatchers has a 2007 copyright year & a director commentary that's not mentioned on the package. I'll go through all 3 discs and make a list of features. I'll also scan the discs and post a pic. This is the last day for the sale at Circuit City.

However, the *.vob files, etc. are dated 12/11/2006, for some reason, and the disk itself is called LIEFORCE:

Here are a couple other pictures of the package I purchased:

This was purchased in ATL this morning around 10:15 AM at the Buckhead store.
