Disc help?

Okay I'm pretty sure this is hopeless, but just in case I wanted to throw it out here and see if anybody could come up with a miracle.

My wife took one of our DVDs, a flipper, and wanted to more easily identify which was "side 1" ... so she wrote on it with a Sharpie. Yeah right across the recorded media portion in bright Sharpie marker.

Before I toss this thing and buy a replacement, is there any way to successfully remove the marker and make this a playable disc again?

Thanks

Try some Goof Off

If that fails rebuy a newer verson of the disc, any cleaner is likely to cost nearly as much as a new disc.

if she wrote on the foolscreen side and there are no exclusive extras to that side then i wouldn't even worry about it.

Dry-erase marker. Seriously. Just gently cover the Sharpie marks and wipe off with a tissue or soft cloth. Repeat as needed. The solvent in dry-erase ink works wonders on "permanent" markers, as long as the affected surface is non-porous.
