I got the 2 disk version today. Great Star Wars flick by the way. I skipped it in the theaters because it looked "blah"...but it's good - it's like Star Wars meets Shoot 'Em Up.

The 2 disk version is actually worth it to see the 4 deleted scenes on the second disc. Why oh why did the director cut the most exciting scenes in the movie? Who's retarded descision was this? They cut the best scene of Anakin vs. Ventress vs. Rancor Beast, and 3 other great scenes. The director should have shortened the opening battle scene (it went on too long) in order to incorporate these scenes...very strange decision.

any other exclusives on this one?

I know none of you may have (likely) spoken to George Lucas recently, but what are the odds that this will be included in the season 1 set for the show? There are people claiming that this movie is just a three part pilot episode, but if each episode is about 22 minutes and the movie is 98 there would be over an episode's length missing. Are they likely to keep the movie and TV show separate?

Cameron 11-02-08 11:42 PM

doubt it will make the set , as they never have broken it into episode form. Also, while initially it was planned for tv they went all out with it after they decided to go theatrically, so some of the voice actors (Chris Lee, and Sam Jackson for instance) portray their respective characters in the film, however they do not in the series.

more than that, they are in the business to make money, and making two sales means more money than making one.

This movie made me want to drown myself in a bathtub full of acid.

well, I hope you feel the same for every single prequel as well...

Moleman1138 11-03-08 08:50 PM

this was an awful film. I will stand behind the prequels, but this doesn't even deserve Star Wars tagged to it. I still want the steelbook though for collection.

cinemaphile 11-03-08 09:44 PM

WRONG. This was a very good film. It finally got back to the fun and adventuresome feel of the original trilogy. This is the movie the prequels SHOULD have been.

Just goes to show that the less direct involvement Lucas has, the better it is!

Why would you buy this DVD in any type of packaging (steelbook) if you thought the film was awful? And how many dvds that you have in your collection you think are awful films?

Any word on if there will be any exclusive bonus discs? If the target version is one of their deluxe versions, I'll go with that. Otherwise the steelbook is where it's at for me.

I haven't heard anything about bonus discs. But Target's edition will also have a 90-some-page "Shipyards of Doom" comic book.

Meanwhile, WalMart will only have a picture book with the 1-disc version. :/

Has anyone picked up the steelbook at Best Buy yet? Are they plentiful? I can't get there until after work.

dex14 11-11-08 10:45 AM

I went this morning and only saw a single row of them on the shelf, about 9-10 or so

cinemaphile 11-11-08 12:32 PM

about 10 steelbooks here, with $51.42 retail price stickers!!!! what's up with that??

Ram 11-11-08 12:48 PM

Can someone post pics of the Steelbook Edition?

dEEahn20 11-11-08 01:39 PM

Got my steelbook at 10:30am pst. There were only 6. 5 after i got mine. Only 4 if you take out the one that was badly bent out of shape. Also has the $51.42 price tag that cinemaphile mentioned.

komsik 11-11-08 02:02 PM

Mine had around 15 or more copies out on the shelves.

Rammsteinfan 11-11-08 02:10 PM

At least 20+ copies at my BB this morning at 9am. When did BB start opening at 9am? Is it just for the holidays this month and next?

RickWJ324 11-11-08 02:41 PM

The Best Buy I went to (West End of Richmond VA) had no Steelbooks when I went in there at noon. I called this morning at 10:30 and the girl was nice enough to hunt one down for me and hold it.

MR Round 11-11-08 02:46 PM

After I got mine the BB here only had 2 left

OldBoy 11-11-08 02:52 PM

10 or so at my BB, maybe a few more. i (shamefully) got 2.

trammel 11-11-08 04:15 PM
