Looking forward to the unrated cut - hopefully it's substantial because this movie was pretty damn brisk... it felt like they skipped an act and just cut to the finale...

Yeah, I hope it's unrated in the sense that Kingdom of Heaven was unrated. I thought the film was pretty decent, but I could tell that there needed to be a lot more there.
Thanks for the news about this one!

In for the 2-disc unrated. Too bad it won't likely completely remove Charlize Theron's character, but I'm hoping it fleshes out what could have been a much better film had it gone in a different direction.

The unrated label tempts me, but Hancocks problems might not be solved by this alone, as the main problems for me at least was the tonally unsure nature of the piece and the lack of a proper villian.
Pluss the R rated cut (which is what I presume we're getting here under an "unrated" label) recieved the same mixed reviews in test screenings as the theatrical version did with critics.

The movie got an R-rating like 5 times and they kept cutting it down and re-submitting it until it finally got the PG-13. They just wanted to keep from excluding younger crowds from another Will Smith blockbuster. I think the main things cut that made it R-rated were more harsh language from Hancock and a scene of a rape, or attempted rape.

Based on the limited number of posts in this thread for what was considered a summer blockbuster, I sense the movie was underwhelming for most (I didn't see it.) Is that the case? As of now, it appears to be a rental until proven otherwise and I tend to like most of Will Smith's movies.

Rent it first, it's really hit and miss. The first two thirds are actually really great. It's the third act that kills the picture. I'm still on the fence on whether or not to pick it up. I loved the first part of the film, like alot.

It's also well documented that Berg had many run-ins with the MPAA trying to get the film to a PG-13.

So this will probably have the scene of Hancock having sex with a girl and his SUPER-EJACULATE blasts her through the roof of his trailer home.
No, I'm not joking. That actually was filmed and deleted. I'm guessing it'll be on the DVD.

Just wanted to bump this up since the original link now has the artwork for the Rated and Unrated releases.
The 1 and 2-disc Unrated artwork looks like dog shit. It's half-assed and lazy photo shopping.

Well, it's finally happened. I think we have a cover that can compete with Real Genius in "worst ever" category.
Why the fuck would the one-disc get the better art????
