Maybe I just had a bum pair this time since I don't remember them being so uncomfortable when I saw Monster House in Real D with my brother's family a few years back. But the pair I had last Friday was downright painful and impossible to situate without feeling uncomfortable.

I saved my glasses from Valentine and they are much better than the stupid blue and red glasses that I'm used to. For $12, believe me I'm going to keep the glasses. I'm going to try using them on Friday the 13th 3 and see if it works for the 3D.

I kinda figured that since Friday part 3 came out some 25 years ago or so. I hope the new dvd release comes with some decent 3D glasses.

You can't use polarized, clear lens glasses to watch an anaglyph (red/cyan) presentation. Doesn't work. Your Real D glasses from MY BLOODY VALENTINE are suitable only for Digital 3-D presentations in a theater, and won't work for any DVD.

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 was released theatrically in polarized, clear lens 3-D but the new DVD is an anaglyphic conversion for home screens, which pales in comparison with the original 3-D version, BTW. Therefore, while I still have my polarized glasses with the FRIDAY logo I received in a theater clear back in the dark ages of 1982; I can't use them to watch the anaglyphic DVD.

My question is how did you save the glasses? My theater had a guy right at the exit collecting them. The theater manager told us that the glasses cost $44+

You talking about the glasses from MBV? You must have one helluva cheap manager at your theater because at mine they have a bucket of glasses you from when you go in and a bucket to (volunatrily) drop them in once you leave. No one even says anything. I kept a pair.

I see where the confusion is coming from.

Most theaters (1000 or so) are using the Real D system, which uses silver screens, polarizing filters and clear, polarized glasses. These glasses are yours to keep if you wish after the show, though recently recycle bins have been added at the exit of the theater so you may discard them in a green manner if you wish.

A small handful of theaters are using the Dolby 3-D system, essentially a digitally projected super charged form of anaglyph, in which the glasses are recollected and washed after each show for redistribution. The glasses indeed cost about $40 each.

Monkees must have been to a Dolby 3-D theater, which is why they forced him to return the glasses, while the rest of us went to a Real D theater.

IMO, Dolby 3-D is inferior. The color is compromised and the effect isn't as good as the Real D system. That's why some theaters who initally went that route are switching over to Real D. Also, it's a hassle for the theaters to deal with washing the glasses.

In any case, neither Real D nor Dolby glasses will work on the DVD.

Forgot to mention in my post that you could pick those up as a permanent solution. I plan on buying a pair for myself. I can't stand those cardboard ones.

I wasn't aware there were 2 different types of 3D they were using. But if you think Dolby 3D is inferior (assuming that's the one I saw) then Real D must be the most amazing thing ever! I thought MBV on the 3D process I saw was the best 3D I've ever seen!

From reading that new review for the F13 uncut BR,the features don't seem that special.
I'm really let down by that,hopefully pt. 2 has better features....

I thought they sounded pretty good, especially when you consider how shitty Paramount treats this franchise. Part 2 sounded like it had weaker features than part 1.

It does. 3 is barebones except for a Trailer. Shame since the UK BD seems to be loaded with features...if the information is correct.

Gotcha. Two additonal features that I feel are pretty good.
