Star Trek ToS re-release questions

Just wondering why the first season is 120$ and the second season is $60?

The first season has both the HD DVD and SD DVD version on dual sided disks. Paramount intened to release all three seasons in this format. When HD lost out to Blu-ray they decided to release season 2 & 3 in just the standard format hence the lower price. I'm sure they will eventually release all three on Blu-ray. I was actually able to pick up season one for about $60 at Deep Discount during their last 20% off sale.

It would be nice if they would release a DVD only version of season one at the lower price.

So far I had both the Beta and VHS versions, then I upgraded to the first release of DVDs with the 2 episode discs. I'm really sorry i missed out on purchasing any laserdiscs and HDDVDs. If they ever release full seasons on Blu, with the original version and the reconfigured version I might be tempted to quadruple dip.

I have the Red, Yellow, Blue season boxsets and I'm quite pleased with them.

I would only double-dip if they provided SD versions on Blu-Ray discs to reduce the disc count.
