70's comedy Quark comes to DVD in Oct.

Buck Henry scifi comedy available 10-14-08 for $19.94 extras are slim an episode of I Dream of Jeannie and Fantasy Island. Comedy will probably be dated but I'm getting it.

Wasnt there another show called Quark? I think it was an actual science show. Has that been released?

I've only ever been familiar with the computer program.

I'll have to check this out eventually with some old co-workers just for laughs.

I watched that for the few episodes it ran. It was cheesy even at the time but I liked it, so I'll be buying it.

Here's a sample:

Episode 5: All the Emperor's Quasi-Norms (first of a two-parter)

It's from a Ha! Channel broadcast, but I think it's complete. I'll be picking up the DVD for the nostalgia factor alone.

My mom was telling me once she and my grandfather thought this show was hilarious and no one else did. It does look pretty damn ridiculous.

I honestly can't believe this is actually coming out. This has got to be one of the signs of the apocalypse.

Wow... as I said recently, the fact that DVD is so mature and companies have to scrape the barrel is really a good thing. There's a lot of turds that come out, but also a lot of stuff that people have been waiting for forever. (For the record, I believe this one falls into *both* categories.)

If nothing else, it's worth watching for the Barnstable twins.

I have a couple original airings of this recorded on Beta- it's unbelievably awful. The laugh track kills whatever chance of quality it may have had. And if you don't know the premise of the show- it's about a garbage collector in outer space!

When are they gonna put out "Cop Rock"? I only managed to tape the first episode of that (and not watch it for about 10 years)- I'd love to see the rest of the episodes.

You know, I could understand this coming out if other TV shows that are on hold on DVD (insert your lengthy list here) would just be finished on DVD.

There should be a law passed that the studios can't scrape the bottom of the barrel until they finish releasing their regular stuff.

They say it's all based on sales. You mean to expect me to believe they expect Quark to sell better than St. Elsewhere season 2, Night Court, Taxi, Larry Sanders Show, Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore...I could go on.

I seriously DOUBT it.

And of all the Buck Henry shows to release, this is the one to get the release? Where is Captain Nice?

I have a little book from fifth grade where I list this as one of my favorite current shows, along with That's Incredible, Shields And Yarnell and Cliffhangers.
