SNOW ANGELS- 9/16/08 (Bare-bones release)

David Gordon Green's SNOW ANGELS will be coming this Sept. 19 from Warner Bros Home Entertainment. Sadly this release has not one damn extra. This is very weak considering Green usually does a rather good god assembling extras for his films.

It will have WS and FF (are they still doing FF? why? ) presentations on one disk though so that might explain lack of extras.

Warner Independent Pictures folded at the time of the film's release, so it's no wonder there's zero extras.

Ironically, now that I think about it, most of the titles released under Warner Independent have pretty bare-bones releases, including The Science of Sleep which has a lavish special edition in France.

I thought the Science of Sleep DVD was pretty decent. At least there is Commentary, A making of, featurette, music video, etc. What all would be on the France disk that isnt on the R1?

But yeah WIP has given us some very weak releases. Funny Games, The Painted Veil, etc. In fact its not even just the WIP label but WB major studio releases have horrendous special features (or lack thereof). I am Legend, Speed Racer, Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, etc.

What a terrible cover... but I've been waiting for what seems like ages for this to hit DVD, so I'll certainly be picking it up. Have to support DGG's non-Pineapple Express projects!

Well, I enjoyed George Washington, All The Real Girls, and Undertow, so I'll probably check this out.

I like how he's following these movies up with Pineapple Express and a remake of Suspiria, of all things.
