Check the link on the original post to see the cover art...

Definitely going to get this, love this film... great memories.
"Hey man, see if I contact you for the reunion! It's all about the memories, man. All about the memories..." |
What the fuck is up with that cover art? This is beyond airbrushing. It's like someone used a long-lost still from Heartbeeps or something. Creepy.

Was this movie popular at all in theaters? I worked at a theater when it came out but it didn't get shown there. |
According to IMDB.com it costed approximately $10M to make. JLH was still on Party of Five and probably wasn't commanding a big pay check yet. Pretty much the entire supporting cast were relatively unknown actors.
I do have to agree that the new artwork is horrible! Why couldn't they have just taken the original artwork and then add the silly banners etc. All the actors look like cartoon characters. |
Ethan E. looks like something straight out of Waking Life.

Have to say, I am glad they left all those crying drunk girl scenes out. They sound really stupid. Other than that, cant hardly wait to pick this up.

Why Sony goes back and makes extended editions of some pretty shitty films, it upsets me that they can reinstate the original edit of the film before the MPAA had their way with it. :thmbsdwn:

The BD is in the hands of several people...hopefully they can confirm if the deleted scenes are the crying drunk girl stuff.
|
I have a copy
and yes, deleted scenes are included. 7 minutes and 26 seconds worth. The crying drunk girl is included, and runs from: 5:35-6:16 'But I already told you, my name is Mary Hampson, and I live at 1787..' |

Looks like the BD (and I assume DVD) does include some of the crying drunk girl scenes complete with subtitles! Total run time is a little less then 8 minutes.
|
They removed the nerdy kid from the cover art. I wonder why? Sure, he's the least famous, but Peter Facinelli and Ethan Embry aren't exactly huge stars either.
|
What's so great about the crying drunk girl scenes?
