Yeah, saw this a couple days ago. Got scared when I read the (Side A) stuff because I thought it was a flipper, but realized that it's not.

Really curious what the third disc actually is. Digital copy, probably. Ugh I hate that crap so much.

3 discs...for "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"...really?

I liked the movie, and even I think it's pushing it.

^ Agreed, but I'm sure the 3rd disc is a digital copy so it's really more of a 2-disc set. I liked this movie so I'll buy it. There wasn't anything groundbreaking about it; it was just a good film with some good laughs. I'm a fan of the Apatow camp, so most of those releases I buy anyways.

lordy that's a shitload of extras - give us the kitchen sink why don't you - any word on the extended editions running time? This was the only Apatow film that didn't feel like it went on forever.

I imagine I'll be buying the 3-disc version of this. I didn't initially with 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Superbad and immediately regretted it. Think I'll go with my gut this time.

It looks alright at first glace, but under scrutiny it's a terrible photoshop job. The shadows would indicate lighting/sun is coming from the left yet the left side of Jason Segel's face is shadowed. Not to mention they all seem to be floating in the fake sand.

yeah. it's also kind of a spoiler too. wish they would use of the vastly superior theatrical poster designs...

Yeah I got scared too. If it's not flipper, then why on earth does it say all the Side A stuff? Just to scare us lol?

Either way, I'll probably be buying it. September 30th is going to rape my wallet, with the Iron Man steelbook that day and now this. I saw FSM at a pre-screnning in April, and absolutely loved it. I guess whether or not I get 1 or 3 disc depends on price points.

^ Yea, cause it would take a rocket scientist to figure out how the movie ends.

Why does Uni always just shrink the standard art and put it in a little box (like Knocked Up) for the SE's? What would be wrong with giving us some different art for the 3-disc? Kinda lame, but whatever. I'm still buying it.

I disagree that it's a spoiler. It shows you the basic premise of the movie --- nothing that wasn't revealed in the trailers --- but doesn't spoil how the movie plays out.

I'm not to concerned about it's spoiler potential either. I haven't seen the movie yet, but the cover isn't really ruining anything for me either. Then again, I'm having a hard time focusing on anything other than Kristen Bell so what do I know...

Any one know if there are going to to be any exclusives, or special promotons for the release?

Doesn't look like it. The answer to this can be found in the DVD Bargains board, but I'll post prices and stuff here this time. Credit goes to Speedy, of course.

Circuit City:

Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Unrated >>>> $15.99
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Unrated - 3 Disc Collector’s Edition >>>> $22.99****

**** Amazon says this has 3 Discs; print ad states 2

Target:
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Unrated >>>> Low Price ($14.99)
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Unrated - 3 Disc Collector’s Edition >>>> $22.99 ****

Best Buy's ad isn't out yet. Also, this is the same week Iron Man is out, so you can bet on exclusives being for that film, not this one.

Best Buy had an exclusive for "Knocked Up" so I'm waiting to see if they'll have anything. Otherwise I'll probably order from Amazon.

Does anyone know if the Ultimate Unrated Comedy Collection, that FSM is a part of, will in slim cases? I'm thinking no because the version of FSM in the UUCC is 3 discs (how would they squeeze 3 discs into 1 slim case?).

What does the 3-disc set have that the Ultimate Unrated Comedy Collection does not have?

the ad, states it's two discs, I hope they are wrong. Going over there at lunch time to hopefully buy it, there's no reason why it wouldn't be the 3-disc version, right?
