I hate this mentality here at DVDTalk. That's a thread started in January, ASKING when the release date is. Is this forum so overloaded with threads that we can't handle having two separate threads on a single dvd/movie, when one is random speculation and one is actual release news? I don't want to discuss The Dark Knight in a thread from 2005 titled "hay guys when dos Batman Begins 2 come out??!!"

Usually I'm like that too, but the thread was on the front page and I had already posted the news in it.

No big deal. Whatever.

Sorry to single you out. It's an issue I've had with this forum as long as I've been a member (8+ years).

Yeah, personally, I think it would be nice if old threads were just deleted altogether. A few admins should look over some threads and just delete the fuckers. Search doesn't help much.

I checked on ezy dvd.com, a site in Australia, and there will be a collectors (box) and limited (head) set of season 11 coming out on November 5th and the limited set is the Krusty head.. Thought you'd all like to know as the tvshowsondvd article doesnt say anything about that, so FOX are still going with the head sets..

Good news everyone!
..oops wrong show

I do not like the head packages but a Krusty head would be worth buying.
Still have my Krusty o's cereal from last summer.

Weird they're still sticking with the heads. I figured they would have changed it up again, like this time using buildings laid out vertically (Moe's Tavern, Simpsons house, elementary school, etc.) or a giant map of Springfield that will be complete after collecting all 5 seasons.

I stopped after S9, but I'm always interested in what the packaging will look like.

You know what would be even better? If we had a better system of merging threads and changing the title to reflect the current state of certain projects.

Still, glad to know this is coming.

They have already said that the "head" packaging has finished with the 10th Season set. They haven't said what the new one would be like.

i personally don't like it, maybe they would have gone more creative like the head concept, but i think too many people bitched about it and they said, we'll just give them some plain shitty boxart to keep them happy. i mean, people bitched enough for them to mail out replacement packages for season 6 and had 2 different options for 7-10. probably figured, keep it simple and people won't complain. if they had drastically changed the boxsets for seasons 11-15 people would have probably complained that they weren't uniform with their 1-10 boxes. just my .02

That is a terrible cover. Then again, that is a terrible season. The death of Maude Flanders was a pretty ridiculous moment - this was the shark-jumping point where Homer started being portrayed as a total jerk.

Not that i can read the side panel but on the front it only says The Complete Season, i hope it says 11th season on the side panel as i really dont want to buy a few seasons after season 10 and have to read episode descriptions to actually find the season i want to watch.. Terrible cover..

EDIT: Oh i'am way too stupid. I just took a proper look of the cover and it has a huge patern in the shape of an 11.

Another jump-the-shark moment was when every other episode they seem to be traveling. Or also when all the minor characters, who were much better being kept to a quick quip or a short scene, started having whole episodes based on them (like Comic Book Store Guy dating Principal Skinner's mother).

Season 10 was it for me. Even though, VERY hit or miss. That marked its downward spiral.

I'm still buying this since I'm a completist, but eh. I'm not as excited for the releases like I was for the earlier seasons.

I think for me this is the point where I'll probably start picking them up when they go below $20, but certainly not on release day.

I'm a completist too, but I draw the line when it means owning 19 seasons of a show that only has 8 good ones. Season 10 was it for me. Nice round number at least.
