Zipporah Films are having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion through December 31st. If you've been contemplating buying any of his films, this would be the time to do it.

Thanks for the heads up, Noirfan. This may be what it takes to finally bite on the titles that I have been mulling over.

On a side note, its curious that you would have to buy 5 to get 2 free. Why not just do two seperate orders of B2G1?

Same here. I wouldn't even entertain paying the outrageous regular price, but at two-for-one it's much more worthy of consideration.

Edit: Sorry, I misread that. It's buy two, get one free. Hmm.

Shipping charges. The cost is a whopping $12.95 per order. Shipping is usually free with orders over $150, but after double-checking with Zipporah, the free shipping cannot be combined with the current promotion. It's really frustrating that the DVDs are so expensive, since they're really amazing films.

I can't seem to find clear pricing anywhere on the site. If, as it appears, it's roughly $30/DVD plus $25 for shipping to Canada, I'll still pass. Even with a buy-two-get-one discount, that's nowhere near worthwhile to me. I would like to get Law and Order and High School, but not at that premium. These people need to get real!

Took advantage of the B5G2 code and ordered the following:

Essene
Near Death
Belfast, Maine
Domestic Violence 2
Sinai Field Mission
Manoeuvre
The Last Letter (La Dernière Lettre)

There are reviews of 27 of the Wiseman films here.

Have there been any coupon promotions since the last one? There are a couple more discs that I'd like to pick up, but have been holding off in the hopes that zipporah will have a sale.

I don't believe so. I would assume all promos would be announced on Zipporah's website. Wiseman does, however, have a new film:
Frederick Wiseman's newest documentary, LA DANSE- Le Ballet de l'Opera de Paris premiered at both the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals to positive reviews.

LA DANSE- Le Ballet de l'Opera de Paris has already premiered at both the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals and will make its theatrical debut on November 4, 2009 at Film Forum in New York City.

The Paris Opera Ballet is one of the world's great ballet companies. LA DANSE shows how a ballet company functions from administration, technical support, and classes, to the rehearsal and/or performance of seven ballets— Paquita by Pierre Lacotte, The Nutcracker by Rudolf Noureev, Genus by Wayne McGregor, Medea by Angelin Preljocaj, The House of Bernarda Alba by Mats Ek, Romeo and Juliet by Sasha Waltz and Orpheus and Eurydyce by Pina Bausch. The film is a profile of all aspects of the ballet company, one of France’s principal cultural institutions.

Re: The films of Frederick Wiseman, now available on DVD

How are these films packaged? I have a few DVD-Rs and I would like to upgrade to official releases, are they manufactured discs with artwork and a booklet or burn on demand discs?

It's a shame they seem so greedy with the pricing and the school pricing is ridiculous.

If anyone is interested, I have several like-new Wiseman DVD-Rs (to answer bse's question, they have artwork, but no booklets) that I am selling for super-cheap here. This is a great opportunity to acquire his films for likely the lowest prices you will find.
