Lonesome Dove Re-release?

I noticed Lonesome Dove will be re-released on DVD and Blu-ray on 8/5.
Supposedly a 'collector's edition', I cant find any info on what is different from the currently available version.
Anybody know?

Just saw this thread...what is funny is I brought my copy of Lonesome Dove to work today and I am getting ready to watch it soon. I noticed on Amazon it lists this as being widescreen. This was made for TV and is fullscreen correct? Oh well....$39.99 retail for the blu ray version.....$27.95 at Amazon. Way too high although this is a classic....classic western with a stellar cast. I will keep my standard dvd version for now until there is a sale on the blu ray version.

Well, the current SD release is VHS quality. I have seen a review of the BD release (dvd beaver) http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...ve_blu-ray.htm
and a few comparison shots at AVS and the BD certainly raises the bar to at least DVD quality... but it absolutely is cropped. I may suck it up and buy it anyway because of the increased PQ. I would really love to see a review comparing the two new releases (BD & SD) with each other.
