Wow! Uncle Remus and "Song of the South" are on an Offficial Disney DVD (Sort Of)

I've owned the Alice in Wonderland "Masterpiece Edition" 2-Disc DVD for a few years already, but never before spun up the 2nd disc of bonus material. So, the other day, I finally played that 2nd disc for some background noise while I was working on my computer, playing the first special on it called "One Hour in Wonderland" which was apparently some TV special from 1950. While I'm working, I notice that I'm hearing "Zip-a-dee Doo-Dah" being sung. I look up from my computer, and it's Uncle Remus' entire scene from Song of the South of that song! And then it's followed by one of the animated segments with Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Bear, and Br'er Fox. I'm just sitting there, utterly amazed that these segments were on an "official" DVD release from Disney, although rather secretly. And it makes me wonder if there is more from the movie hidden away in bonus features of other DVDs.

Anyone else stumble across this too, or know of any other scenes from the movie secretly released in a similar way?

pointless post.
this dvd has been out for years and it isn't a secret that the segment was on there.

the "Zip-a-dee Doo-Dah" song has been released before on other recordings and such.

i'm sure there is already a song of the south topic you could have put this in.
now there will be another one.

here's one.

Wow, what an obnoxious post. And, sorry, but there is a difference between a thread wishing for the whole movie to be officially released and one talking about short segments from it that have been released (although in a sly way).

(And this particular segment seems to be unknown on that thread because it's never mentioned once in it.)

obnoxious, again why not just bring it up in the previous topic?

what's the point anyway.
you didnt discover it it has been there for years and wasn't released "in a sly way"

mentioned in the first post here.
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread....+in+wonderland

and in several other posts in that other Song of the South topic.

then there is this topic coincidentally titled, "Song of the south song on Alice in Wonderland?

even more annoying about this topic is that you didnt say "Zip-a-dee Doo-Dah is on an official dvd" you said "song of the south" is.

oh you did add the little "sort of" woop d-doo.

Jeez, everybody's whining because Disney hasn't done justice for Song of the South and we're taking it out on ourselves.

Gentlemen, let us drop our swords to the ground, embrace each other in mock friendship, and hatch plans to invade "the vault" so we can release the film ourselves. All this fighting is getting us nowhere.

What a pointless reason to start a thread. Get everyone's hope up for no reason what so ever.

I dunno. The "sort of" may have been a warning, but this forum is full of wannabe moderators.

Interesting, I was unaware of this. I'll check it out tonight.

Funny how people get bent out of shape over a "pointless" thread, then continue to incessantly bump it.

What a pointless reason to pointlessly bump a pointless thread.

Pointless.

Absolutely pointless.

to bump a thread is to increase one's posting average number.

Here's another thread about this topic:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread....ght=song+south
As the first post points out, there are other excerpts of Song of the South animation on the Walt Disney Treasures Disneyland USA DVD from 2001. The excerpts are in b&w

SOTS not on DVD? I regularly see an ad for it here on DVD Talk when I come here to bump pointless threads about Uncle Remus sightings on DVD.
