Quoting myself on this one, but I'm glad Criterion Collection got the rights for this one! And I'd seriously assume a Blu-Ray for it (since Japan already has it out on BD)

This one just tried too hard to be Criterion with the spine numbers and art house choices and classics. But the lack of analytical extras (thoughtful docs, essays and commentaries) gave it away. How far in the spine numbers did they get anyhow?

Still waiting for "55 Days At Peking".

A few weeks back, Turner Classic Movies aired "55 Days At Peking" in HD. It looked really nice with no signs of dirt or scratches. I wonder if the master used was created for the canceled DVD release?

I can't believe that the only DVD of "55 Days at Peking" out there is the sub-par Asian release. The Miriam Collection releases of the Limited Collectors Editions were phenominal. Mom would want you to bring it back, I would think, Weinstein boys.
