The prices on all these editions are way too high. If the 2-disk drops to around $10 I might be interested.
|
Wow, that limited edition sounds fantastic, but way too expensive. I want the Blu-Ray, I'm glad to see Burton is doing a commentary.
|
33 Bucks??? On a side note, why does every movie have to come with this "Digital Copy" bullshit?

wow, a new commentary! so the previous one is history? What no inclusion of the short film 'Frankenweenie' - hmmmm. correction, according to this posting 'Frankenweenie' IS on the new SE http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showpost.ph...9&postcount=39 |
2-disc for around $10? I think we're asking a little much. It is perfectly reasonable for a 2-disc SE of a movie to cost $15-$20, which it almost undoubtedly will when it actually appears in stores. $25 for standard-def SE is pushing it, though.
I am surprised they included Frankenweenie. I figured it was being left off cause Burton is adapting it to feature-length and it would end up an extra on that DVD. |
I'm picking up the 2-disc on release day for sure as I missed out on the last release
|
I think this is release number six I'll be (re)purchasing this film.
|
Cool. Something to put on the xmas list. For me it will be the Nightmare ON Christmas ;)
Finally anamorphic  |
Just give me the damn movie on BD...that's all I ask!!!
|
I wonder what end credit crawl they'll use - the Starz HD airings have the original crawl whereas the 3D version has added illustrations.
|
Great news!! Thanks OP.
|
I would LOVE to pick this up! LOOOOOOOVED this movie when I was a kid
|
anyone see this...

^^ Holy shit... I HAVE to have that. Not too sure I like the disc holder but the bust (and the beard) is way cool.

I'm having a hard time judging the size of the bust. Is it like the Planet of the Apes head?

That bust will be mine.
|
I can really feel myself going back and forth on the bust. $120 is really damn expensive, I'll probably need to check it out in person before I make my final decision.

I seriously hope it's not discontinued. I have one on order for in store pickup at Best Buy, and i'm going to be very bummed if that's true.

Amazon or any other retailer won't be getting any shipments after the initial run so it is discontinued. The disclaimer is there to inform potential buyers they're SOL.

so who is getting the 'Jack Bust' set? and why is only 2-discs pictured if this is supposed to be 3 with that digi copy included? and does anyone know if this is merely made of plastic? i thought with the price tag it might be made of at least ceramic or something nice like that.
|
I wish I could get the Jack Bust but I can't afford it. I'll be picking up the Blu-Ray tomorrow. I'm really excited.
|
I would buy that bust if there was a Blu-Ray version available. I don't think it's worth another $35 on top of the $120 however.
Oh well, looks like just the boring old BR for me... |
Today the Borders I work at got our shipments of Jack Busts to sell for tomorrow's 8/26 street date.
We only got in 4 (one of which had a broken head/split in half), but I'm not sure how many other retailers will be getting. |
I really want that bust, but in reality it would just be another dust collecting nuisance on my shelf in a few weeks after the excitement wears off. I'll be more than happy with the Blu-ray.
