i think this is what happened. since for the hell of it, i put it in 4x3 on my hdtv, and it cropped the image.

on the hof, there was a Sting refernce (when flair mentioned his best oponents) the benoit reference was edited out (i think it was when he mentioned the wcw guys that helped him out during the mid 90's wcw days, like eddie, dean, mongo, ect.

I thought about the FYE tin, but decided on the Wal-Mart 2-pack.

Like a lot of others were saying, I watched Wrestlemania on my plain, old, ordinary TV and it played fullscreen. I played it on my computer with a widescreen monitor and it played in widescreen (complete w/ the little WWEHD logo in the upper left corner).

BD clearly won the hi-def war and is the successor to DVD as HD-DVD is not even produced anymore as Toshiba through in the towel and admitted BD has won. Prices are already starting to drop on the BluRay Discs to compete more with DVD.

The sales to Wrestlemania on BD seems to be doing well. The first Best Buy I went to was sold out and the second one only had 1 left(Which I got). I really hope they start releasing everything on BD now, PPV's and the documentaries. Even the stuff in the begining of the WM 24 BD that wasn't HD looked better.

I know that, but I don't think it's gonna be like "let's replace everything with BR". There's just going to be a bunch more holdover customers buying DVDs instead of BR. If there's going to be a huge transition like from VHS to DVD, there has to be a convenience factor like there was in switching from VHS to DVD that makes the transition fast --- in addition to the increased disc space and picture quality.

Also even if it does happen, realize that it took the WWE five or six years after the release of their first DVD to stop selling VHS.

So, does anyone want to help a guy out here and pick up an extra Best Buy exclusive WM24? I'd pay cost, shipping, and $5 extra. The closest Best Buy is 4 hours away.

shacmasta 05-22-08 07:36 PM

Finally Found it. I took the trek out to The Best Buy on 86th and Lexington and found it. They have 4 more to my surprise w/the bonus senitype. If anyone lives in the NYC area and wants it, That's the place to find.

l8nerduke32 05-22-08 07:58 PM

The first place i went was Walmart since they are cheaper and are open 24hrs, just picked up the regular release (as i already have 'McMahon') and the Blu-Ray for my PS3. then i went to FYE to make sure i got the tin, which they had plenty of, and also picked up the 2 new Tagged Classics. Then I went to best buy to see if there were any senitype versions available. I found one in a stack of about a dozen or so. So i opened my tin, transferred the best buy price sticker to the one sealed from inside the tin and took it to bestbuy w/ my receipt for a refund. So i have a standard, and an FYE tin w/ the bestbuy senitype.

Wherehouse.com currently has a 25% off dvd's sale and right now they have used copies of Wrestlemania 2000 for $24.99. Not a bad price considering how hard that one is to find nowadays.
Here's the link if anyone is interested:

Hello!

I am traveling to Waterford (about 2 hours,) tomorrow and they supposedly have it. If I get there and there actually the exclusives, I could do this for you. Any idea how much the shipping would be?

Shane

Shipping and tax almost kill the deals, but I was able to pick up a few of the Attitude Collection DVDs a few days ago for $8 ea. including tax and shipping.

They also have Ladder Match for $10.07 and New & Improved DX for $9.97. Their used stuff is almost always in excellent shape.

I saw one copy at the one on Broadway (bet E Houston & Bleecker St). Glad to hear you found it.

Hey LMK if they have any. I graduated from UCF and was going to visit this weekend and Waterford Lakes is right around the corner from there. Thanks in advance. :)

BTW where are you traveling from? I live in South Florida and I am really hoping that is not why you are making the trip up there just for that.

If so I give you mad props for being a die hard fan.

Is it the same SKU on the on inside the FYE tin? And the one inside the FYE tin is sealed?

KurtK26 05-22-08 11:08 PM

Kind of a funny note- I went to a used book/cd/dvd store today CD shopping, and what do I find but the Wrestlemania 23 tin! Now I have one already, but was surprised to see it for 19.99. However, the tin seemed dented on the back and dirty. I don't know if it just needed to be wiped down or what, and the DVD case inside seemed good. Between that and finding the new Vampire Weekend CD for $3, it was a day of good finds I guess.

I'm a die-hard fan, but not crazy. :D I'm actually a UCF student and I have to go out there to sell my books and drop off a financial aid form. And as you know, Waterford Lakes is like 5 minutes away from campus.

Can anyone CONFIRM that the complete HOF ceramony is on the BLU-RAY version?

Yes, all the UPCs/SKUs are the same on the digipaks. I double checked all the numbers on the standard (not packaged w/ anything), the bestbuy senitype and the one inside the tin before making any returns. they are all 651191946662 (spine# WWE94666). And, Yes, The 3disc digipak is sealed inside the tin, just no orange oval sticker w/ "8hrs..." info on it. hope this info helps.

Shouldn't be any more than $3, if you used a padded envelope. Not sure though, because of the recent rate changes.

For anyone interested, Inetvideo.ca has brand new DVDs of Summerslam 1999 for $17 and No Way Out 2002 for $20. Its a Canadian site but they ship to the US.

I ordered from them many times in the past and the service was excellent.

Summerslam 99

No Way Out 2002

Not sure if they are KOCH or US versions since they carry both.

On tuesday I PM the circuit city ad @ Walmart and picked up the WM 24 & McMahon 2 pack for $19.99. Since I already have the McMahon dvd I took it my local used dvd store "disc replay" and since it was brand new they gave me $10. So all in all I spent $10 to get the new WM24 dvd which is good considering I was upset about the lack of promos and special features.

I should have done that there are places near me that do that I probably could have gotten that much too.
