'WM XXIV" wasn't widescreen on my 19" tube TV set, but I haven't watched on
my HDTV set yet.

Ric Flair's full 1 hour + speech was fantastic! Everybody needs to watch it.

It doesn't matter what T.V. you watch it on, you can still tell if it's widescreen or not.

Thanks for the info!... very tricky to get one!

its 1 out 34 (thats the ratio as of 8pm from the Bestbuy I've been at)

A partial list of matches scheduled for the next ROH DVD releases that come out on 7/8

ROH Greatest Rivalries:
*Samoa Joe vs. Homicide for the ROH title, Wauwatosa, WI, 7/23/04
*BJ Whitmer vs. Jimmy Jacobs in a steel cage, Detroit, MI, 3/31/07
*AJ Styles (with Mick Foley) vs. Jimmy Rave, Lake Grove, NY, 9/17/05

ROH Best in the World:
*Samoa Joe vs. Kenta Kobashi, New York, NY, 10/1/05
*Jay and Mark Briscoe vs. Naruki Doi & Shingo, Liverpool, UK, 3/3/07
*CM Punk vs. Terry Funk, Philadelphia, PA 9/20/03

wow, Joe vs Kobashi on the retail dvd! Hope they keep it without commentary. AJ vs Rave is entertaining, certainly beats what both are currently doing. And whitmer and jacobs in the cage is insane (resulting in missing teeth, a leg fracture and a bloody mess afterwords.
Both of these will be "must owns" for me! I hope they keep the price low and push these things to the moon. ROH deserves more attention. I think ROH has actually passed the original ECW for me. Wow. I can't believe I said that.

mine didnt', even though i didn't know one existed until reading this thread, but there wasn't any special attatchments to any of the dvds.

had a question in regards to the hof, apparently, Flair gave thanks to Benoit in his speech, and was wondering if they took that out or not?

hope to dive into it tonight.

I just got done watching Hall of Fame. If there was a reference to Benoit, it was edited out. I thought I had read Flair said something about Benoit during his speech. I also have 2 questions. Did they also edit out any comments about Sting? I'm almost positive I didn't hear Sting mentioned. And didn't Flair take a shot at the Rock about him going too long? I thought I read that somewhere, but didn't hear it on the dvd.

In which he should still be able to tell.

Either way, the blu-ray looks amazing. I don't have USA in HD yet (Brighthouse,) so this is the first time seeing WWE in HD. Like I said, amazing.

I picked up the Wrestlemania set yesterday. I haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet, but I was a little dissapointed Flair and Michaels weren't on the cover. I'm really looking forward to watching this.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed but does WWE plan on releasing all PPVs on Blu Ray now that WM has been released

I think WWE wants to continue the trend, like how WM15 was the first DVD released then Summerslam 99 and slowly put out the big 5 on DVD then finally every ppv.

I think this year they will also release Summerslam and Survivor Series on Blu-ray then probably next year or year after they will start distributing all ppvs.

I think WWE wants to wait til Blu-ray is the standard, right now almost 99.9% of people have DVD players so makes sense for them to release on DVD for atleast a year or two.

Honestly, I don't think BR's going to be the standard in the VHS to DVD transition sense...so until there's a clear, popular and very superior successor to DVD, they should be releasing titles on DVD for a while.

I am having a similar issue with WMXXIV on DVD. When i first watched it, i did so on my widescreen hdtv downstairs and all was fine. When i later took it into my bedroom to watch it on a standard 4:3 tv, the image was cropped. Not squished or altered but cropped on the sides. I found this strange since when you play a widescreen movie on a standard tv it doesn't automatically zoom in and present you with the largest pic possible and crop of the sides....it instead shows you the entire image as originally created in letterbox form with black bars at the top and bottom. I have never seen a dvd adjust itself like this before, and i would prefer to watch it in 16:9 (as originally aired) on my 4:3 tv.... any suggestions on how to adjust this?

Not sure if this is a settings issue or not but if the WWE has figured out a way to master a disc which automatically fits either WS or FS, this should become the standard on all DVDs. Finally get rid of the FS only release crap once and for all.

Sure is. Went to another Best Buy by my job and they had a ton of copies, just no senitype.

Best buy is quickly becoming a pain in the ass when it comes to these wwe exclusives.
