Savage Streets was on the shelves early at Best Buy for $14.99. I really like the work they put into representing all the poster art...different art underneath the slipcover plus an insert with more art.

Very nice packaging - Code Red seems to be doing a pretty good job with all of their releases.

Love the artwork.

Might have to run out to see if any of the Best Buy's nearby have it.

Torchur317 09-21-08 06:27 PM

Wow,I'm sold....

Hehe. Mine's on its way from DeepDiscount for a whopping eleven bucks. Can't wait!

Blind Buy from Borders.com for slightly over $10!

DVDTalk review. Pity the transfer is interlaced, but hey, it's Savage Streets. Why no screenshots though?

Matthew Ackerly 09-23-08 08:51 AM

No surprise there, most BCI releases are interlaced.

Im just happy to finally have this in anamorphic.

SPRBD 09-23-08 11:12 AM

Interlaced!?!? F*ck.

Bummed I wasn't able to find this at Best Buy today.

The one closest to where I work didn't have it. The other one about 20 minutes away said they had one in the inventory but couldn't find it.

They said most likely it was still on a cart to be put out and still hadn't made it's way to the shelf yet :(

Hopefully I'll have a copy by the weekend

alfonsosoriano 09-23-08 09:34 PM

Wow, looks like a rent at first for me but I'm sure I'll love it. Seems right up my alley.

I blind bought this and watched it last night. I'm happy with the purchase. It's an '80s trash classic.

I had the same problem yesterday, They had two copies of Savage Streets in stock but were unable to find them. I went back this morning and was lucky enough to get a copy of it. It was located in the action section, Looking forward to seeing this tonight as it was a blind buy. :)

Has anyone spotted Code Red's Sept. 23 release of: Final Exam in any store?
I get tired of always having to order movies online because stores don't seem to carry them. I had the same problem recently with Childs Play.

I'm quite jealous. Hell, I'm jealous of all of you who currently have this :)

I know I could have easily ordered this or pre-ordered it. There is just something about going into a B&M store and picking up a handful of new releases then/there.

Maybe I'll drive out to the Best Buy I went to on Tuesday later tonight and check if they put that one copy out.

SLASHFACE 09-24-08 05:15 PM

Best Buy sucks. Unless of course you need 100 copies of Sex and the City. They just now put out Child's Play anniv. ed. two weeks after its release. I think I am just going to start buying online and save the hassle.

Buying at physical stores is so 1990s :)

The collector mentality won't go away for quite some time. Not in my lifetime anyway. Digital media is okay for disposable things, but personal libraries (books, music, movies) are still important things for many.

SLASHFACE 09-25-08 07:39 PM

I could give a crap about digital copies. Its a total waste and just another scam to make a few more bucks.

I grabbed a copy of Savage Streets last night @ BB. Great overall package with a nice insert. I'm pretty pumped to watch it this weekend.

Zodiac_Speaking 09-27-08 09:08 PM

Gotta get mine now.......

Enjoyed the fuck out of my copy of Savage Streets. Never thought this would see light of day on DVD. And in such a lavish edition!

Stamina 10-02-08 05:23 PM

Just found a copy of the 2 disc Savage Streets. Can't wait to see it. Not sure about Final Exam, but this one looks tempting:

Final Exam is in my queue for the challenge. Looks like Netflix hasn't added Sweet Sixteen yet.
