2 or more copies/version of one DVD movie

So who has multiple copies of a certain DVD movie?

I have this thing that I always want to have the "best" DVD version of the DVD.

I have 2 of the following...

- Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring
1) - Theatrical release - Regular DVD
2) - Extended edition / Collectors gift set

- Stargate
1) Regular version
2) Ultimate edition

- Underworld
1) Theatrical Version
2) Double disc - Extended Edition

- Terminator 2
1) Ultimate Edition
2) Extreme Edition

- Spiderman 2
1) Theatrical Version
2) 2.5 extended

- Transformers
1) Special Edition DVD
2) HD-DVD

- Daredevil
1) Regular Version
2) Director's Cut

- The Mummy
1) Ultimate Edition
2) Collectors Edition (from the trilogy)

I'm not sure if that's exactly the OP's question. I think he's just wondering who owns multiple copies of the same film, in differing versions. I'm sure there's some thread on it, but, whatever...

I have 3 copies of:

Lost Highway (R1, R2, R4 - all different extras)
Robocop (CC, trilogy set, steelbook)
Halloween ('07) (workprint, theatrical, unrated)

I have 2 copies of:

LotR (all 3) (EE's and theatricals)
The Thing (old CE and HD)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1st Pioneer release and steelbook)
Ed Wood (R1 and R2 with missing featurette)
Transformers (transforming package and HD)
Spider-Man 2 (1st release and 2.5)
Pan's Labyrinth (Korean leather book and R1)
Death Proof/Planet Terror (R1 steelbooks and Jap. 6-disc box)
Halloween 6 (producer's cut and R1)
Evil Dead (new SE and old Elite)
A Nightmare on Elm St. (box set edition and SE)
King Kong ('05) (theatrical and EE)
Jaws (25th and 30th ann. discs)
Army of Darkness (Theatrical and DC)
The Departed (steelbook and HD)
Scarface (R2 and Platinum Ed)
Black Christmas (Critical Mass SE and old SE)
Reservoir Dogs (old SE and gas can)
Payback (theatrical and DC)

Not sure if that really counts since when you buy it you get all 3 versions. Or maybe it does. I'm not the OP.

I have to agree with Scott on this one. What the OP is essentially asking is what movies have you double, triple, etc. dipped on. I've seen this asked LOTS of times already, and I told myself the last time I wouldn't go through looking at all the times I've dipped. The last time I listed them, I got depressed because the list was so long.

Also, I have been contemplating whether or not to consider an extended or recut as a double dip. I kind of consider it a different version of the movie if it has been extended or recut. I guess I'm just trying to justify the purchase, huh? If the movie is essentially identical to one I already have, I will usually sell off or give away the original one and keep the newest 2disc, boxed set, etc. version. Unless of course I like the movie enough to want two exact copies of the movie, and tell myself I have a "back-up" just in case.

Here's a link to the last time this was asked:

None for me, but Pan's Labyrinth will be my first double dip (R1) to compliment the Korean Leather Book edition.

I've got a lot. I'll name a few:

Sahara
Enter the Dragon
Lost in Translation
Shaun of the Dead
Spoorloos
The Matrix
The Matrix Reloaded

There's more. I'm sure I mentioned them in one of the other 203 double-dip threads we have.

T2 first came to mind when I saw the thread title - I have to imagine a lot of folks have/had multiple versions. I own UE, but bought EE because I heard good stuff about the Cameron/Wisher commentary. It was very good, but I am not someone who replays commentaries enough to justify owning both (and I don't have considerable home theater equipment for EE's other bells and whistles). I ended up giving the EE to my bro, who loves T2 but had yet to pick up a copy. In addition, he has a good video/audio setup to maximize that version.

Superman 2 (theatrical/Donner) is the only movie I have now which is two different "cuts" of the same flick. I realize this one comes with baggage, though - and many certainly don't consider these the "same" movie.

I have two copies of TNA Destination X 2007. One is kinda scratched, so it's my "junk" copy that I take with me to watch with friends. Another is my "official" copy that no one can touch. That's pretty much it, though.

I definitly have a few. I know I won't be able to think of them all but I know a few off the top of my head.

I have the old director's cut DVD of Blade Runner and the excellent new edition.

I have the bare bones Unforgiven and the 2 disc edition, which still isn't very good IMO, featurettes are decent but the commentary is a dissapointment, barely worth the upgrade.

I have the old Criterion edition of Sanjuro and the new special edition (one of my top five films of all time, and definitly worth the upgrade). I still have to get the new Yojimbo edition at some point.

Old Seven Samurai and new 3 disc set, one of the best DVD sets ever made if you ask me, next to Brazil and Blade Runner.

Regular edition of Payback and the director's cut. Both versions are really so different this almost is not a double dip, I'm definitly glad I own them both and not just one.

I have a few old Kung Fu movies on DVD plus the Dragon Dynasty rereleases. These are mostly worth the upgrades, as the old editions are often very poor in quality, though I think Bey Logan is a pretty uninteresting commentator (everyone seems to love him except me). 36th Chambers is a great release though, RZA's commentary is phenomenal.

I have an edition of Do The Right Thing which came in a box set with 4 other Spike Lee movies (Mo Betta Blues, Jungle Fever, Clockers, and Crooklyn) as well as the Criterion edition. I don't have the other four in any other editions, though I'd be curious to see if any of them have features worth upgrading for (the versions in the set are all bare bones). I particularly like Jungle Fever and Clockers and would consider upgrading for the right supplements.

Planned double dips for the future - Adventures of Baron Munchausen 2 Disc (been waiting forever), Fistfull of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More (Christopher Frayling is an excellent commentator).

That's a big weakness for me too, as I bought the 5 disc sets instead of the 4, and also had to buy the newer 2 disc sets because they had different extras. Add the animated versions and I have almost 30 LOTR discs.
